Zariah walks through a seemingly empty hallway in the Miami Dade Crime Lab and sees Horatio sitting next to Belle King with his hands clasped over hers in a comforting manner which if one wasn't all that bright or smart might think meant something completely different "did you know Horatio was the first CSI?"  Belle asks "he was uh.... the what?"  Horatio asks with a slightly amused yet confused tone "in Hamlet when Hamlet was poisoned and dying he asked his best friend Horatio to tell the world who murdered him"  Belle replies Horatio smiles then says "okay, I'll tell the world"  his eyes look past Belle and he sees Zariah walking towards them and he says "but first I'm going to talk to Risher and I'll call you later"  he stands up as he speaks and follows Zariah towards the elevator "I....!"  he starts "she likes you! but then again what damsel in distress doesn't fall for her dashing white knight!?!"  she says interrupting him "and I may be new to this but I'm not that stupid!"  she adds after a small pause he smiles his smile drops when he hears her whisper softly through her teeth "doesn't mean it doesn't hurt though!.... and here I thought I felt enough pain in my life but this....!!"  he says softly "Zariah!"  she shakes her head not willing to speak about it anymore and to his relief she stays walking at his side and doesn't rush ahead to try and get away from him they walk into the elevator and ride it down in silence then they go their separate ways he chuckles when he hears her mutter to herself as she walks away from him "I always have the worst timing!".... when Horatio tells Belle "right now my concern is you"  Zariah's smiling face flashes through his mind for he knew how badly she was taking everything she has seen so far especially since she has seen it in person the evidence shown right in front of her very eyes he's her first and only and he's breaking her heart by playing along with Belle's crush on him comforting her when he should be paying attention to the woman he loves with every breath he takes the woman he just might kill for if it ever comes to that and what was worse right when she said she wanted to share his bed she ends up continuing to sleep in the spare bedroom he made up for her locking the door every night so he knows that he's not allowed to enter her eyes never meet his, she moves away from his touch so many things are going wrong now that his attention has been derived to Belle who he just wants to save just like he does everyone that gets put under his care even when they are already dead the only thing he was grateful for was that she didn't leave him completely but the pain he felt for causing her pain grew every second of every day that she ignored him.... Parker Boyd looks past Horatio at the gorgeous brown haired woman standing in the hallway with a German Shepard at her heels laughing and chatting with some man as he tells Horatio "I thought if she were dead.... I could forget about her"  curious as to where the nerds attention had been derived to Horatio turns his eyes meet the figure of the one he loves chatting with one of his coworkers as he says "well, that is a plan but it didn't turn out that way, did it?"  he turns his attention back to Peter as the guy shakes his head "you'll have the next 50 years in a six-by-six cell to work it out"  Horatio says then he walks out of the room hoping to catch up with Zariah who was once again leaving the building.... it took a month and a half for Horatio to get Zariah to want to be close to him again... at least in a full on relationship sort of way.... and even though she was always still quite near she wasn't as near as he wanted her to be the reason he lost her so easily was that he went from spending all his time with Belle to spending almost just as much with his sister-in-law Detective Yelina Salas who he has yet to introduce Zariah to and during that month and a half alone he started to see the world through her eyes the way men looked at her, spoke to and about her, tried to touch her his jealousy turned to anger really quick when he saw that she was just being her and not.... intentionally.... giving them what they wanted his biggest clue was Ace a owner of a strip club who like Peter saw her from the other side of the interrogation windowed wall where she was talking to a FEMALE worker this time sliding her hand under her long hair and pulling it away from her neck by raising it up to the back of her head then letting it fall back down and shaking it slightly in the air with her head leaning slightly back so that her hair stayed way from her skin.... she liked having long hair but she didn't like how it would sometimes press up against her skin like plastic wrap when she became sweaty.... and she was in her jogging outfit so he knew she had just come from a run and Ace was talking about her in the same way he spoke to Calleigh when they first started the case but worse much worse and he was grateful that she was on the other side of the glass for he would have beat the living daylights out of the asshole standing in front of him on the other side of the table who was smirking at him not knowing what he was actually thinking....
