Chapter 41

Confused Feelings

"Are we late?"

"Just in time, I think."

I raised my stares when I thougt I heard familiar voices at my side. I confirmed it when I saw Lesley and Lauren conversing. They sat down beside me and looked at the front of the amphitheater which is now again full of students.

Ilang minuto na rin akong nandito kasama nina Rob at Mia habang hinihintay na mag-umpisa ang program.

"What was this program all about again?" Rob asked us, knotting his eyebrows in the process.

"I also don't know. We only heard about it this morning." Lesley answered which received an affirming nod from Lauren.

But my eyes ripped off from them when I noticed the group of people entering the amphitheater. It was Green, Sky and Gray. Also walking with them is Selena who is smiling from what I think is Green and Sky telling their group. So the rumors are true? She really transferred in here.

I look at Gray and I saw how his lips formed into a small smile when Selena laughed. My chest tightens with the sight, and the reason was beyond me.

As expected, they all sat at the most front chairs of the place, just in time the emcee pulled the microphone from the stand.

The usual practice to start a program happened until the guests was introduced. There was three of them.

"Please let's welcome the representatives of 'Environment Now! Movement' with a warm round of applause. Welcome to Xavier University sirs." The emcee exclaimed followed by loud sound of applauses from the students.

"To the university president, to the deans of the different departments, to university admins, staffs, and finally to the students who are with us today, Good afternoon! First of all, I would like to introduce myself, I am Mr. Edilberto Sanchez and together with me is Mr. Ocampo and Mr. Pillos. As what we were introduced, we are from the 'Environment Now! Movement', an initiative which aims to promote environmental conservation and protection. We are doing this for almost 8 years now with already over 300 volunteers from around the country." Another round of applause reverberated around the hall.

Mr. Sanchez continued. "At the moment, which was also the reason why we are here is because we have this project entitled, 'Protect our Mountains' which was funded mainly by the President of Xavier University, Mr. Alexander Montellor and his wife Mrs. Freya Montellor. We are also very glad that the board of trustees has allowed us to involved all the college freshmen of Xavier University in the said project."

So, this is the news that was intriguing us since this morning? Sound cool though. Hopefully, something that can take my mind away from all the things that was stressing me these past few days.

Nagpatuloy pa ito sa pagsasalita at inisa-isa ang mga mangyayari sa proyektong isinusulong ng grupo.

I listened and mentally listed all the details that he laid out.

The basics are: it will be a one-day activity which will consists of mainly tree-planting and clean-up drive; it will happen this coming Saturday; and as stated, it will be participated by all the college freshmen of Xavier University.

Nang matapos ito sa pagsasalita ay nagpalakpakan muli ang mga istudyante na naririto sa lugar. I could say most of them are excited but there were also who are against the idea of doing physical work.

"And to offer us an intermission number, let us welcome on stage, our very own and the university's most sought-after boyband, The Shades of Mont!" The emcee announced.
