Chapter 46

Hot Seat

I gulped as I stare at the people seated around our table. Ang pang-dalawang taong mesa na inuupuan namin kanina ay napalitan ng mas mahaba at ngayon ay napapaligiran na ng mga kaibigan ko at ng mga pinsan ni Gray.

I and Gray were seated at the end of our table, my friends were on our right side, while the Montellors including Addi were seated on our left.

Pinasadahan ko muli ng tingin ang mga kasama ko. Kulang nalang ay ang huni ng mga kuliglig sa background dahil wala ni sinumang nagsasalita sa amin. The atmosphere was so awkward as everyone stare at each other like we did not know one another.

I looked at Gray ordering him to at least break the silence but the jackass outrageously ignored me and leaned on his chair.

Few seconds later, I felt his hand crawling on my arms under the table until it reaches my hand and intertwined our fingers.

I looked down at our hands and I felt my cheeks burned up. Nakarinig ako ng pagtikhim mula sa mga taong kasama ko kaya nagtaas ako ng tingin. I almost chocked on my own breath when I saw the staggering stares of my friends.

"Seryoso ka na ba sa kaibigan namin?" Naumid ako nang halos sabay-sabay na tanong ng mga kaibigan ko.

Nang makabawi ay pinanlakihan ko ng mata ang mga ito, ngunit naluha na ako't lahat lahat pero matalim parin ang titig nila sa lalaking katabi ko.

"Lagi namang seryoso ang pinsan namin!" Green defended but for some reason it ended up to be an insult.

Gray glance at him with a sharp stare. He sneered at Green who laughed uncomfortably on his seat.

"So?" Mia raised a brow at Gray. Kahit ako ay biglang kinabahan nang magmukhang college professor ang kaibigan ko.

Gray cleared his throat. "More than serious. I am very sure that I love her." Gray said straightly. Halos maubo ako sa hangin.

"OMG!!" We all turned to Rob when he suddenly shrieked. My friends smack him on the shoulder and Rob immediately made his expression serious.

"So, how about Selena?" Ngayon ay ang kambal naman ang nagtanong.

Sa pagkakataong ito ay napalingon ako kay Gray. With all the fast developments happening on our relationship, that question slipped out of my mind. I myself want to hear his answer.

Naramdaman ko ang paghigpit ng hawak ni Gray sa kamay ko. For some reason, it gives me the feeling of assurance, that his answer won't disappoint me.

He gracefully shuffled on his seat, his expression stoic.

"Selena was from my past. I take all the blame for not clearing my feelings before entering another relationship."

At this point, he looked straight at me. My breathing almost stop the moment our stares met. His face was free from any reaction but his eyes holds so much emotions.

"I don't think it's too early to say this but I know that I am now holding the girl I want to share my life with. I was so wrong for doubting my love for Amber." He stated.

I am still processing Gray's words when Addi spoke.

"Yeah. That's so dumb of you, brother." She was so busy playing on her nails that she did not noticed the dagger stairs she's receiving from her brother.

"Kanino ka ba kampi ha?!" Saway sa kanya ni Green.

Addi raised a brow at him and then rolled her eyes. "Duh, he's my brother but I won't defend his unjust decisions."
