"Welcome to The Diamond Hotel. How may I help you?" The receptionist curtly greeted us as soon as we have reached the register.
"Good morning. I have room reservations. Under Rita De Vera." Ms. Rita answered.
Tumango ang huli at binalingan ang computer monitor na nasa harap nito. Pagkatapos ng humigit kumulang isang minuto ay humarap muli ito sa amin bago ngumiti.
"Reservation under Ms. Rita De Vera. 3 rooms good for 2 persons each. Two days and one night." The receptionist relayed.
Kumunot ang noo ko. 3 rooms for 2 persons each? Parang may mali.
Mukhang hindi nga ako nagkamali dahil ganoon din ang naging reaksiyon ni Ms. Rita.
"Could you please double check it. I had reserved for 2 rooms good for 3 persons each." Ms. Rita explained to the woman.
She nodded but look back with an apologetic expression.
"I'm sorry maam, but that was what stated on our guest list."
Ms. Tessa took a deep breath while finding for a solution. "Are there any vacant rooms? We will reserved one." She asked the receptionist.
The girl shifted her gazed to the computer monitor and provably checked their master list.
After a while, she again look at us apologetically. "I'm sorry maam, but we are fully book today." She stated.
Halos mapahilamos sa mukha si Ms. Rita nang wala nang magawa. Bumaling siya sa amin bago nagsalita. "I think we need to look for an another hotel. Ipapa-cancel ko nalang ang reser–"
"No-no." Agad na putol sa kanya ni Green.
Kumunot ang noo naming lahat.
"That would be such a hassle for all of us maam. Isa pa, hindi rin natin sigurado na may spaces rin sa ibang hotels." Salo sa kanya ni Sky.
"Yeah! That's what I am trying to say." Green mischievously smiled and tapped Sky's shoulder. Nagtinginan silang dalawa sabay tingin sa akin at sunod kay Gray na tahimik na nakikinig sa tabi.
Hindi ko nagugustuhan ang ano mang nasa isip ng dalawang to.
"Kung ganon, sino ang magkakasama sa rooms?" Problemado paring tanong ni Ms. Rita.
"Syempre magkasama kami." Green and Sky made a high five.
"This are the keys maam." Singit nung receptionist sabay lahad ng tatlong keycards.
Iniabot ni Ms. Rita ang isa kanila Sky at Green.
She look at the three of us before she spoke. "It will not look good if I will share a room with Gray. So it's either Amber or Rachel that would share a room with me." Said Ms. Rita.
Nagkatinginan kami ni Rachel.
Eksaktong pagbukas ng bibig ni Rachel ay ang pagsingit muli nila Sky at Green sa usapan.
"Si Rachel nalang ang kasama mo maam. Tapos sina Amber at Gray ang magkasama." Ani Green.
"But–" Kontra ni Rachel pero muling naputol ang pagsasalita nito nang magsalita si Sky.
"Yup! Nice idea." Sang-ayon ni Sky. Nakita ko ang pagbusangot ng mukha ni Rachel. Samantalang ako ay hindi ko alam kung tututol ba ako o ano.
Me? Sharing a room with Gray? That would be terrifying!
"Is it fine for you Gray if you'll sharing with Amber?" Nag-aalangang tanong ni Ms. Rita.
