Stares

Malaki ang ngiti kong bumaba sa first floor at pumasok sa restaurant ng hotel.

I immediately spotted Ms. Rita and the group near the floor-to-ceiling glass wall of the restau. Nandoon na ang mga kasama namin. Ako at si Gray na lang ang wala.

"Where's Gray?" Tanong ni Ms. Rita pag-upo ko sa table namin.

But her question was answered when Gray emerged at my side. I shrugged but was more than shocked when he seated at the chair beside me.

Tumingin ako sa kanya nang nakataas ang kilay, but the guy surprisingly smiled at me. Aba? Anong nakain nito at nakangiti ngayon sa akin? Hindi ba dapat ay galit siya sa akin? Anong nangyari?

"Seems like someone had taken his coffee this morning. Anong pinakain mo dito kay Gray, Amber?" Tukso ni Green sa akin.

"That was my question to myself too. Sigurado kayong hindi bipolar itong pinsan niyo?" Ganti ko pabalik.

I saw Sky and Green tried to hide their snort, but it doesn't wipe off the grin that was plastered on Gray's stunning face. Sa pagkakatitig ko rito ay naramdaman ko ang pag-init ng pisngi ko. I feel the creeping blush on my cheeks.

Thankfully, the group's attention turned towards Ms. Rita who called the waiter for our menus.

When everybody have told their orders, except again with this guy beside me, I decided to say mine.

"I'll get provencal-style chicken tenders and a glass of iced tea." I looked at the waiter. "Plus apple cream pie for dessert." I added.

"I'll get the same, but I prefer water than iced tea, and no dessert please." The man at my side stated.

I shifted my gaze at him with an obvious scowl on my face. Is this guy pulling some plans under his sleeves?

Add to my annoyance is that grin being plastered on his face.

I shrugged after a while. Well, do what he want, he can't affect me.

After our lunch we all decided to go to our own rooms to rest for a while. I did not noticed I fell into a nap until I felt continues taps on my shoulder.

My face scrunched up but was too lazy to get up. Well I am always lazy to wake up once being in the coziness of a bed.

Nakaramdam muli ako ng determinadong tapik sa aking balikat makaraan ang sa tingin ko ay ilang minuto. But I only groaned in response.

Nang akala kong tinantanan na ako ng sino mang istorbo sa pagtulog ko, bigla naman akong nakarinig ng isang nakakabinging alarm-tone.

"What the hell!" Napabalikwas ako mula sa pagkakahiga.

"Hell to you too." Narinig kong sabi ng lalaki na nakatayo sa tabi ng kama ko. Gray, who else. He was gripping his phone as he turned off it's blaring ringtone.

"So you're the culprit." I scoffed.

He raised a brow and turned to his bed to pick his backpack up.

"Ms. Rita called. We are off to the competition venue in 10 minutes... well she said that 5 minutes ago. So most probably, you have more or less 5 minutes more to get ready." He said calmly.

My eyes bulged. "5 minutes?! Bakit hindi mo ako ginising!" I shrieked as I hopped off the bed and snatched my duffle bag.

"I did. It's not my fault you sleep like a tired beast." Sagot niya bago tuluyang isinara ang pinto.
