Steve's POV

I sat on a stack of tires, taking casual drags on my cigarette. I had 2 cars in front of me that needed work. One was just an oil change; the other was a bit more complicated. I needed a new carburetor part which hadn't been delivered yet.

I wiped my brow on my shirt, damn was it hot in here. I stubbed out my smoke. I was vaguely aware of the looks Soda was giving me, so I decided to mess with him a bit. I unbuttoned my shirt, slipped it off, and tossed it over the tires. "Soda!" I called out, "come here, I need your eyes on this one."

"Really Steve?" He came loping back, "it's an oil change." He reddened a bit when he saw me, but covered well, "whaddya need?"

"You, Soda," I took a step toward him, "we've been best buddies for how long? You know me inside an' out." I paused, "I don't know when our friendship changed, but I know you feel it too." I cupped his cheek.

"Steve," he whispered, "this is wrong, it's so wrong. What will the gang say? My brothers and sister. The other greasers'll slaughter us..."

I gently kissed him, "we don't have to tell."

He kissed me back and gave me an evil smirk, "that will make that more fun."

The door slammed and we jumped apart, "Soda! Steve! Where you at?"

"Hold your horses," I called back as I brushed my hand against the bulge in Soda's pants,"I'll give you something to think about." I grabbed my shirt and threw it back on. I tossed him a cigarette, "see you up front."

Dally's POV

Since Steve and Soda were pretty pissed about being told to leave the council; Shepard, Two-Bit, and me brought Miller's second down to the DX so they could be in on it.

Brumley was right, he was pissed. So pissed in fact, that he came with us with no hesitation. The whole way to the DX, I was laughing to myself bout how dumb Miller is; see his second is a guy named Bryon Douglas. This guy turned on his own best friend when he found he was dealing LSD. Some hippie kid went on a bad trip, nearly killed him. That happened about a year after Johnnycakes killed that Soc.

"Douglas," Steve came out from the garage, "how ya been, man?" They shook hands.

"Not doin' too bad, considering Tulsa's bout ready to go to shit." We all muttered our agreements as Soda came up front, "Curtis, I'm real sorry to hear bout your sister."

"She's tough, she'll get through this." His eyes flashed with anger. The Curtis brothers were out for blood.

"Alright," Tim took charge, "let's talk business. How deep is Frankie in this?"

Bryon ran his fingers through his blonde curls, "deeper than an I thought. He's getting out of control. He's using that shit Wallace is givin' him. He's selling it to kids. He's trying to recruit these young kids, 10 years old. Some of the other guys are scared of what he's becomin'. Wallace has pretty much taken over. It's a shit show. A giant shit show."

"What's a shit show?" Phae and Pony came walking up.

Soda put a protective arm around Phae, "don't you worry. Did you talk to Annmarie?"

"Delaney?" Bryon cut in, "the Soc that got jumped?"

"Yeah, she said tomorrow evening." Phaedra scoffed, "apparently it's all bout her." Phae caught Bryon staring at her, "you wanna talk a picture? I'll even autograph it, you prefer Scar Face or Frankenstein?"

That pissed me off, "I hear ya talkin' like that again, I'll skin ya, got it, punk."

She looked down, "yeah Dal, got it."

"Gettin' back to the plan," I took over from Shepard. "Darrel is gonna talk to the Delaneys. Wallace couldn't have picked a better Soc to jump. Her parents are loaded. They know people. They will do anything to get justice for their precious brat. Darry tells them what we know. Unfortunately, the fuzz gotta be involved, but we ain't doin' nothin' unless it's just Wallace, Miller, and his pansy ass followers that get hauled in." Bryon was taking in everything I was saying. "Darry bets we can even get them to use their big wig lawyers."

"It's not a bad plan, but why does Darry wanna take his chances teaming up with Socs?" Bryon crossed his arms across his chest.

I pointed toward Phae. She had changed since the attack. She stayed close to her brothers. She scared, "she deserves justice too."

Douglas was intrigued, "I'm in, but I want to know every move you guys make. I want to be involved every step of the way."

"Can we trust you?" Shepard cut in.

"Yeah, I've seen first hand how fucked up someone can get off this stuff. Ruins lives." I knew he was thinking about that hippie kid."

"Okay," I said, "Let's do this."
