Darry's POV

Phae and Pone had been running drugs for a few weeks now. I called Douglas and Brody to set up a meeting between with them and Brody's dad. I needed things to move quicker. I wanted Wallace busted. I wanted the twins outta danger. I wanted to be able to move forward with our lives!

Brody wanted to meet at his dad's office, which was just 10 minutes outside of Tulsa.  I left the twins at home and picked up Douglas at the DX, "what's up, Curtis?"

"We're gonna go chat with the lawyer, see when this shit will blow up so I can get the twins outta there.  I don't like this, Douglas.  It's been going on too long."

Bryon stared at me, "I get that, man, I really do, but Wallace hasn't technically been doing anything that would get him arrested.  I'm hoping that the next run, Ty or Colton will go with them.  Then they could get busted by the cops.  It wouldn't take much for either one of them to snitch."

"Snitches get stitches," I muttered.

"Why do you care?  As long as it ain't Phae or Ponyboy, it don't matter."

That surprised me, "you don't care about the kids Wallace and Miller have recruited, cause those are the ones that are gonna get fucked in all of this.  How old is Ty?  He one of the 10 years old."

"Fuck, Curtis, what type of asshole do ya take me for!" He yelled back at me, "you think I'm sending a 10 year old out with them?!  Ty and Colton are 18.  They've been in the tigers for years!"

I felt a little foolish now, "I don't keep tabs on other gangs."

Douglas laughed out loud, "'Course ya don't....why would ya?  You send Shepard, Winston, and Brumly whenever you need us to help ya!  You're Darrel Curtis.  You're like the king of the Greasers. You could run this whole east side of ya wanted too."

"Good thing I don't want to."  I've never seen this side of Bryon before.  He was angry, emotional, combative. "What's with ya?"

"Nothin', just forget it." He lit a cigarette, "let's just get this over with."

I pulled the truck up next to a large brick building.  Lawerence's office was up on the 2nd floor.  Douglas and I walked in. We shook hands with Lawerence and Brody before taking our seats.

I handed the envelope of the drug money over to Lawerence, "there's almost a grand in there.  All of it from the drugs."

"Damn...they really do make bank," Brody caught my gaze, "no wonder it's easy for these kids to get drawn in."

"I want this done.  I want Wallace, Miller, and the rest of them caught."  I spoke firmly.

"When is the next deal?" Lawerence asked.

"In two days, well, that's the run that Phae and Pony will do.  I'm gonna convince Ty to go with them.  He'll squeal on Wallace and Miller for sure."

Lawerence took down some notes, "ok.  I will make some phone calls.  Do not tell the twins that this is gonna happen.  The fear needs to be real.  Don't need any of them catching on until it's too late for them."

The strangest feeling of relief and intense worry hit me.  Relief that the end was insight, but I was terrified of Phaedra or Pony getting hurt, "I want to be there.  I need to see how it goes down.  I need to keep an eye on the twins."

Lawerence nodded, "I can arrange that."  He shook my hand, "it's almost over, Darry.  You're sister will get the justice she deserves."

I pushed down the sudden urge to cry.  I needed this to be over.
