Sawyer returned upstairs close to one in the morning.

He was surprised to still see light from under the door.

He pushed it open, untying his apron and hanging it on the hook.

He smiled when he saw Lucy sprawled across the floor, a blanket from the bed carefully placed over her.

Draco sat besides her, taking the scarf off the needles.

"Hey," Sawyer said softly, not to startle him.

Draco looked over his shoulder, "hey."

"Did you finish it?" Sawyer asked, walking forward.

Draco nodded, a grin spreading across his face.

"It looks good," Sawyer nodded.

Draco took a second, inspecting the wool, "it does, doesn't it?" He said finally, his words laced with pride.

"Lucy fell asleep?" Sawyer laughed lightly.

"About an hour ago," Draco nodded, "I didn't want to move her, but she looked cold."

They both watched her breath rhythmically for a second, Draco fiddling with the corner of the blanket.

"I'm going to go to bed," Draco yawned, standing up, the scarf in his hands.

"Alright," Sawyer nodded, "thanks for staying with her."

Draco nodded, offering a small, closed-mouth smile, "have a good night, Thorton."

"You too, Malfoy."

The blond left, closing the door behind him.

Sawyer kicked off his shoes and quickly changed into pajamas.

He brushed his teeth, before going over to scoop Lucy up off the floor.

He lifted her, careful not to wake her, and tucked her under the covers of her bed.

"Goodnight," he mumbled, kissing her forehead.

Flipping off the lamp, the room went dark. Fixing her blankets one last time, he climbed in beside her.

"Professor?" Lucy looked up, confused as her potion's master walked into the empty bar.

"Ms. Evans," Snape greeted, "Aberforth sent for me."

"Of course," Lucy nodded, "he's in the back, follow me please."

She opened the door to the apartment and let him in.

Draco, who was sitting on a stool eating a sandwich, looked over as the door opened.

His eyes widened and he immediately scrambled to his feet, nearly falling over, pointing his wand at the Professor.

"He's a death eater!" Draco shouted.

Lucy's eyes widened and she took a step away from Snape.

"Put that away, Draco," the exhaustion showed on Snape's face, "you're safe."

"No," Draco shook his head wildly, "you're not taking me back."

Draco's wand shot out of his hand and into Aberforth's hand as the barkeep came into the kitchen.

"Severus," Aberforth greeted, "thanks for coming."

Snape offered a curt nod.

Draco looked horrified.
