"Lovely! Lovely! Wake up!"
"James, let her sleep, we're not going anywhere."
"Yes! But I want her to wake up so I can talk to her!"
"Remember when you used to want her to wake up so you could play with her and she'd just end up crying for an hour? Did you honestly learn nothing from that?"
"Hush, Lils, she was a baby then, it's different now."
"If you do not shut up I will smack you," Lucy groaned, trying to bury her head into Sawyer's chest.
"Goody! She's awake!"
"Dad," Lucy snapped, "what did I tell you about waking me up?"
"Don't do it," James said vivaciously, "but Lucy! We really need to—"
"Set up boundaries?" Lucy huffed, "I agree."
"Lucy! Come on! Up! Up! Up!"
Shooting a nasty glare, Lucy rolled off the side of her bed and gestured for her parents to follow her into the bathroom, closing the door behind them.
"What did I say about talking to me when Sawyer's asleep?" Lucy crossed her arms.
"Don't," James said, "wait until he is awake."
"And what did you do?" Lucy raised an eyebrow.
"Bothered you when Sawyer was asleep," James said sheepishly.
"Dad! I told you it freaks him out when he wakes up and I'm talking to nobody!" Lucy said, "he's been so supportive and understanding about everything, the least I can do is not scare the living shite out of him before he's even fully awake!"
"Sorry," James grinned, "have to torment the future son-in-law somehow."
"James!" Lily whacked the back of her husband's head.
"Ow," he whined, "Evans! That hurt!"
"Leave her alone, James," Lily said.
"Fine, fine," James held up his hands in surrender.
"Happy Christmas darling," Lily smiled, brushing Lucy's cheek with her thumb.
"Happy Christmas," Lucy smiled softly, "where have you guys been? You always disappear for so long."
"We lose track of time," Lily and James shared a look.
"Times very different when you're dead," James said, shooting her an apologetic look, "but we're here now."
"I'm so happy to see you," Lucy said, "I was starting to get worried."
"Why worry? Lovely? We're dead! Nothings going to happen to us," James smiled, "you're stuck with us princess."
A grin grew on Lucy's face, "I can live with that," she said, "as long as you agree to never wake me up again."
"Deal," Lily laughed.

"What the fuck are you wearing?" Draco eyed the couple with disgust as they entered the kitchen.
"They're our matching reindeer sweaters!" Sawyer said, missing the disdain the Slytherin's gaze held, "sorry, Draco I would've gotten one for you but I bought them last year! If you want we can share mine!"
Lucy snorted at her boyfriend's obliviousness and Draco gave her a look that personified 'is he serious?'
"Thorton, those are criminally hideous, likely the most offensive item of clothing I've ever had the misfortune of laying eyes on. They are disgracing the name of fashion and are making me second guess my life choices that have led me to this moment."
"You don't like them?" Sawyer's glee sobered, "but look, they have a red nose," he tapped the nose and it started blinking, "like Rudolph, you know...the red nose reindeer?"
Draco looked appalled.
"I think he knows." Lucy whispered through a laugh, "it's ok, love, I'll wear your ugly sweater for as long as you want me too, however uncomfortable it might be."
Sawyer looked down at Lucy and his face immediately brightened.
"I love you," he said with a goofy grin.
Lucy smiled broadly, standing on her toes to kiss the tip of his nose.
"Everyone's up?" Abe's voice echoed in the hall as he grew closer to the kitchen.
He stopped in the doorway and let out a heavy breath as he saw them.
"Sawyer," he pursed his lips, "the jumpers? Again? What is the matter with you?"
"They're festive!" Sawyer exclaimed, tapping the nose once again so it continued blinking red.
"Son, there's a reason there were so many of them on the clearance rack," Abe said, "they're ass ugly."
Lucy slapped a hand over her mouth to hide her giggles.
"How're are you not boiling in that?" Abe crossed his arms.
"They're comfortable!" Sawyer insisted.
"The rash on your neck says otherwise," Aberforth pointed out as Sawyer pulled at the collar of his jumper, "come on, take that thing off."
"Please." Draco emphasized.
"Happy Christmas to you guys too," Sawyer grumbled, turning to climb back up stairs, Lucy trailing closely behind.
"Sorry about the jumpers," Lucy said, pulling hers off over her head.
"You hate it," Sawyer laughed.
"I don't." Lucy tried.
"It's alright," Sawyer chuckled as he pulled his own jumper over his head, "I much prefer you without it."
A blush spread across Lucy's cheeks as he stepped closer to her, wrapping an arm around her waist, hand resting on the skin of her lower back.
"Your parents are gone?" he asked in a whisper, burying his head into her neck.
"Yes," she said, shaking her head slightly.
"Good," Sawyer's grin spread against her skin.

"What took you two so long?" Abe asked as the pair re-entered the kitchen.
"I wanted to straighten my hair," Lucy lied flawlessly, "Sawyer kept me company."
"Why didn't you just use magic?" Draco asked.
"I'm not of age," Lucy rolled her eyes.
"Sawyer is," Draco said, suspiciously.
"I like to do my hair the muggle way," Lucy said shortly, sending a glare the Slytherin's way, "it takes so long because I have so much hair."
He snorted. "Nice turtleneck, the color really accentuates your complexion."
"It does," Lucy said shortly, "thanks."
"Yours too, Sawyer," Draco turned his attention to the Hufflepuff with a smirk, "odd, I'd say, you both have been wearing an awful lot of turtlenecks recently, what a coincidence."
"They're in fashion," Lucy challenged coolly, "my Draco, you really are loosing your touch, aren't you?"
"Knock it off," Abe grumbled, "I'm too old for this, it's Christmas, just play nice and get along."
"Yes, at this rate am I ever going to be able to taste the infamous apple cider donuts?" Draco drawled.
"Not with that attitude," Lucy crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow, "what do we think? Sawyer? Should we skip the donuts this year? We have an awful lot of preparation to do for the dinner tomorrow night."
"You're right," Sawyer smirked, "I just don't think we have the time, Luce, we can always hold off until next year."
"You wouldn't." Draco said.
"Try us," Sawyer laughed.
