"Dean and Ginny are having a row in the common room," Hermione sighed, sitting down next to Ron, "and Lavender's going on to Padma and Parvati about how much of a git you are."

"What about?" Harry asked.

"I just said!" Hermione said, "how much of a git Ron is."

"No, never mind them," Harry said impatiently, "Ginny and Dean? What was their row about?"

"Oh, Dean was laughing about McLaggen hitting that Bludger at you." Hermione said.

"It must've looked funny," Ron shrugged.

"It wasn't funny at all!" Hermione protested, "it looked terrible and if Lucy hadn't have caught him he could've been very badly hurt!"

"Yeah, well, there's no need for Dean and Ginny to split up about it," Harry said carefully, "or are they still together?"

Lucy raised her eyebrows, "careful, Harry," she whispered, "your pining is getting out of hand."

Harry glared at her.

"Yes, they are—by why are you so interested?" Hermione asked.

"I just don't want my Quidditch team messed up again!" Harry said hastily.

Hermione still looked suspicious.

Harry's face was rapidly turning red and he turned to Lucy for help.

Lucy bit her lip with a smile and shook her head slightly.

"I hate you," Harry mouthed.

"Harry!"

Harry never looked more relieved in his life as he had an excuse to turn his back on Hermione's scrutinizing look.

"Oh, hey, Luna!"

"I went to the Hospital Wing to find you," Luna said, rummaging in her bag. "But they'd said you'd left..."

She thrust what appeared to be a green onion, a large spotted toadstool, and a considerable amount of what looked to be cat litter into Ron's hands, finally pulling out a rather grubby scroll of parchment that she handed to Harry.

"...I've been told to give you this, it's addressed to the two of you."

"Great," Lucy groaned.

"What is it?" Hermione asked.

"Another one of Albus's private lessons," Lucy said, reading the letter over Harry's shoulder, "Harry, I might ask Inigo if he'll come sit in."

"Lucy, you know they hate each other," Harry sighed.

"Yep," Lucy grinned, "come on Harry, somebody's got to put him in his place. He's manipulative and we need an adult to advocate for us."

"Lucy, I'll be an adult in a couple months," Harry frowned.

"Yeah, ok," Lucy scoffed, "because seventeen is so much more grown up than sixteen."

"Nice commentary last match!" Ron said loudly to Luna, cutting Harry and Lucy's conversation off instantly.

Luna smiled vaguely as she took her things back from Ron, "you're making fun of me, aren't you?" Her smile faltered slightly, "everyone says I was dreadful."

"No! I'm serious!" Ron said earnestly, "I can't remember enjoying the commentary more! What is this, by the way?" He held the onionlike object eye level.

"Oh!" Luna's face brightened, "it's a Gurdyroot, you can keep it if you'd like, I've got a few of them. They're really good at warding off Gulping Plimpies."
