Life seemed to fly the closer they got to July 1st.
Lucy was having more and more concerning visions in her dreams, a different fight and deaths every night. The lack of sleep had been taking a toll, heavy bags under her dulled eyes.
Katie Bell had finally been released from St. Mungo's and retook her spot as chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
Ginny, after her night of crying, got over her breakup pretty quickly, she was in high spirits, cracking jokes and laughing at every opportunity.
Harry continued to admire her from afar, he hadn't admitted his feelings yet in fear of how Ron would react.
Ron's romance with Lavender had come to a messy end the same night Ginny had broken things off with Dean. He and Hermione shared glances and smiles their hugs lasting slightly more then they should have.
Dean and Seamus seemed to grow even closer by the day, their blushes deeper with every word spoken.
Sawyer was getting ready to graduate, pushing himself into his studies for his upcoming N.E.W.T's.
And then there was Draco Malfoy, who was barely seen anymore, he stayed in his dorm away from everyone and only spoke when Lucy was threatening him.
"Lucy!" Ginny burst into their dorm.
"What is it?" Lucy looked up from her essay with concern.
"Draco's in the Hospital Wing," Ginny said panicked, "it's really bad."
"What!" Lucy scrambled to her feet, "what happened!"
"Harry attacked him," Ginny shifted uncomfortably on her feet, "you better go."
Lucy nodded and took off in a run through the castle, bursting through the doors to the Hospital Wing only a couple minutes later.
Draco was sitting up in one of the beds, looking remarkably pale.
Lucy was by his side in a second, she took his face between her hands and examined it closely for any injuries.
"What happened?" She demanded, "are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, Lucy," he pulled away, not meeting her eye.
"Don't you dare lie to me, Draco Malfoy." Lucy threatened, "look at me."
He turned his head slowly to meet her stare.
"What happened?"
"It's embarrassing," Draco seemed to shrink under her gaze, "I don't want to tell you."
"Ginny said Harry attacked you?" Lucy asked.
"Can you blame him?" Draco laughed dryly, "if I was him I would've attacked me too."
"What spell did he use?" Lucy asked, "let me see."
"I don't know," Draco pushed the covers down off his body.
Lucy gasped, his entire midsection was bandaged.
"Madam Pomfrey said they'll scar," Draco sighed.
"They'll all scar?" Lucy repeated.
Draco nodded, "I'll be just like you, Luce," he joked dryly.
