Ashley's POV:

Friday

It's finally Friday, the day I'm supposed to take Ricky out on his first date. Our first date. I was currently driving on my way back home after school to get ready for the date. I had talked to Ricky earlier at school and we agreed for me to come pick him up around 7pm. I still hadn't told him where I was taking him because I wanted to surprise him.

Once I got home I quickly made my way inside to find the house empty, thank God, so I slipped upstairs and up to my room. After a quick shower I blow dried my hair and plugged in my flat iron. While I waited for it to heat up I went into my closet to find something nice to wear. I settled on a black button up with matching skinny jeans and my usual black cowboy boots. After I finished my hair I added some foundation and eyeliner to my face.

I checked myself out in the mirror and smirked in satisfaction at my own reflection. I hope Ricky likes how I look. I wonder what he'll be wearing. I told him to just be comfy and casual. I checked my phone to see it was almost 6:30. Ricky didn't live too far so I texted him saying I would be on my way soon. I sprayed on some cologne before picking up my keys and quickly made my way downstairs.

It was still empty so I slipped out of the house easily and went to my car. I put in Ricky's address into my gps and made my way to his place. My heart was racing as I got closer and closer to the destination. I've seen Ricky plenty of times now but for some reason I was extremely nervous about our date. Sure I've been out on many dates with people but this time felt different. I was actually excited to see Ricky and show him the plans I had for us tonight. My hands gripped tightly on the steering wheel as my nerves kept eating away at me.

The GPS signaled that I had arrived at Ricky's place so I parked in front of the building and sent him a text saying I was here. I waited for a few moments before I heard a door slam shut and I looked up to see Ricky walking towards my car. My breath got caught in my throat as I watched get closer and I really admired his appearance.

He was wearing a black button up underneath a leather jacket, ripped black skinny jeans, and some matching vans. His hair was straight, bouncing as he approached, and his wrists were decorated with leather bracelets. He gave me a smile as he went around to open the passenger door and slide in the seat next to me.

"Hi." He spoke softly. I couldn't help but smile as I looked into his bright blue eyes that were decorated with black eyeliner and shadow.

"Hey. You ready?"

Ricky nodded as he put on his seat belt and I started to drive off. We both sat in a comfortable silence before I decided to break the ice.

"So wanna listen to some music? Who do you listen to?"

Ricky looked down at his lap as he tapped his fingers against it before responding.

"Well, I listen to a lot of The Cure and HIM."

I smiled as I turned the radio on making sure the CD was inside and the car was shortly filled with the sounds of HIM. Ricky gave me a small smile as he sat back and closed his eyes. I kept my eyes on the road but couldn't help to catch glimpses of how peaceful Ricky looked right now. He's told me some things have been difficult at home but he hasn't told me the full story. But then again I haven't even mentioned my parents or home life to him. I'll have to tell him eventually I know, but I've never told anybody about my life.

I wouldn't even know where to start.

After a while, we arrived at the arcade and Ricky immediately sat up in his seat looking out the window.

"Wow, I haven't been here since I was in middle school..." his eyes lit up.

I smiled at his excitement as I drove around looking for a spot to park. After we parked we both got out and started walking together into the arcade. There were some people waiting outside and I recognized a few of them from school. They glared at Ricky but quickly looked away when I would catch them staring. It didn't matter who I was dating at the time, man or woman, everyone still respected me at school. But with Ricky I wanted nothing more than to protect him.
