Chris' POV:

Well, it's nearing the end of the school year which also meant finals were approaching, long nights of grading papers, and a shit ton of coffee to get us through it all. I was currently still sitting in my classroom after school was over to grade tests that I had today. I was nearly done when I checked the time to see it was almost 5pm. Andy had his after school music class so I was trying to finish as fast as I could so we could meet after.

With the stress of finals going on, I nearly forgot about prom until Maria sent everyone an email to remind us. I had to help chaperone along with Andy and the other teachers so we also had to get there early. Since the gym was being decorated all week, the students had the choice to either be outside or join another class. A few unknown faces came to my classes simply because they found it easier and they could get away with being on their phones or just doodle.

I let out a long sigh of frustration as I finished the last of the papers and that's when I heard a knock on my door. I looked up, a bit surprised to see Mr. Leith standing there with his legs crossed and a hand on his hip.

"O-oh, hello Mr. Leith. How can I help you?"

"Word in the hallways says that you and Mr. Biersak have the hots for each other. Care to elaborate?" Mr. Leith had a pretty stern look on his face and I swear my heart shot up in my throat. I swallowed back the lump in my throat trying to figure out what I could tell him.

"W-what? Beg pardon?" I stuttered like an idiot earning a smirk from the slim man.

"C'mon Chris, it's pretty obvious. I may be the vice principle, but I don't care if the teachers fuck each other as long as it's not in the open. But you should've seen your face." He chuckled before stepping closer to my desk. I practically let out a huge sigh of relief, just happy that he wasn't mad or anything.

"Anyways, i'm not here to talk about fuck buddies, I was here to see if you would be attending tomorrow's faculty meeting. Seems our email system isn't working at the moment." He sighed in frustration as he slipped his hands in his pockets.

"Yes I'll be there." I gave him a smile which he returned. Remington was pretty cute, and despite being smaller than me, he looked like the type to take charge.

Geez keep it in your pants Chris... You can't want to fuck every hot guy around you...

"Anyways, about prom, since the theme is masquerade I was hoping I could get your opinion on something. If you're not too busy that is."

Remington proceeded to reach into the messenger bag that he had around his shoulder. He pulled out a few small sheets of colored fabrics. We spent the next few moments just picking out colors for certain decor that was his responsibility to pick up this week. After we made our choices and had small talk, Mr. Leith said his goodbyes before walking out. Shit, speaking of prom, I needed to get a suit and find a mask. I also had something special planned for Andy, my friends and Maria for the night of so I had to check and confirm it would be ready. Once I was finally done grading tests, I gathered my things and made my way to the auditorium to see Andy's car still parked in the faculty parking lot, so he had to still be here. I quietly opened the door, peeking inside to see everyone was gone except for Ricky and Andy who were standing on the stage.

"You've got this Ricky, it's just you and me now. Take a deep breath, look over the empty audience, and let it out." Andy spoke, his voice echoing through the room.

I took a big risk by stepping in the auditorium doing my best to stay quiet and I took a seat in the very back where I was hoping I wouldn't be spotted. Ricky looked anxious as he gripped his fingers tightly around his guitar. In my heart, I knew he could do it, even if i've only heard a snipit of him singing, Ricky began to strum his guitar, his voice was so quiet at first I could barely hear him. As he sang softly, he lifted his head up and that's when our eyes met.
