"Kurutta-san..." Josie trailed off, as she tried to translate his words. "Dropped on his head as a baby. Samurai school to learn discipline. He learned to slay Oni demons, which is what we're chasing. He was a hero!" She began to explain. Ruby, Monica, Landon, Hope, Jordan and Alaric looked at Josie and Kurutta, as they conversed.

"All the women begged to Kurutta-san, I don't even know that word, but it cannot be relevant..." Josie stopped, wearing a frown as she was grossed out. "Josie, the point. Let's get to it." Alaric reminded her. "Kurutta spent months tracking down an Oni that possessed people, moving from person to person by touch. He was just about to kill it when it found its way into the body of a child and escaped him yet again. He gave chase and caught the demon. But he could not bring himself to harm an innocent child. So, instead, he made an impossible choice and he took the Oni into himself." Everyone stayed quiet, surprised by this.

"But it was then that he realized, unlike everyone else who had been possessed and remembered nothing, he was still partly in control of his faculties. He thinks the Oni found it harder to possess his broken mind. His words, not mine. He tried to stab himself with his sword, and the Oni wouldn't let him. So he decided to never touch a person again So that it could never possess anyone else. And then Malivore, eternity of nothingness deep psychological torment. He came through an ana. I think he's talking about a portal." Josie realised.

"Portal? Uh, where?" Hope asked. Josie just deadpanned Hope, "Uh, sorry, the ancient samurai isn't an expert on Mystic Falls geography."

"How do we kill the the demon?" Monica then asked, as she crossed her arms. "Uh, with his sword. It's spelled with a special kind of magic, so if we can just find the Oni Not a problem—"

Suddenly, the car let out a loud bang. "Not a problem.." Hope said, as Rafael was conscious. He burst open the door as the samurai now whipped out his sword, and aimee the blade at the Waithe.

"Wait, no, no, no, no!" Ruby blurted out, as she quickly rushed to defend her twin from Kurutta. Jordan held up his hand, "Motus." The sword flew out of his hand, and landed in Jordan's.

Now standing in Alaric's office, Ruby and Hope looked at Landon, who had just told them he wanted to sacrifice himself to the Oni. "No." Josie decided as she shook her head. "I'm gonna go and find the others. We're gonna all come up with a much better solution— Ruby stay with him." The Saltzman ordered, before she raced out of the office to find her Dad and the other students.

Ruby looked to her foster brother, "Lan, we'll come up with a better idea.." She decided, as she spoke softly. "We'll figure this out—"

As the werewolf turned to face the Kirby, he hit her over the head with a heavy book, knocking her unconscious. With the few moments he would have, he raced away.
