After finally convincing Landon to come back to life, he sat with Rafael by the docks.
"I don't know how I'm supposed to live without Ruby.." Rafael said, looking off into the water. "Especially knowing that I'm the reason that she is dead."
Landon looked to Rafael, sympathetically. "You know, Ruby would forgive you. I bet she already has. She loved you, more than anything." The Kirby boy said as Rafael weakly nodded, tears stinging his eyes.
"You know.. when we were kids... we used to sneak out of one of our foster homes at night and go to the lake nearby." Rafael began. "We would skid rocks along the water, and see who could make the stone jump more." He admitted. "It was really nice to get away from out foster parents for even just a bit.. and spend time together. I know that Ruby was the only thing to have kept me sane during those times." The Waithe explained.
"Cool story bro. Needs more dragons."
The foster brothers spun around, their eyes landing on Ruby. "Oh god— are we dead?" Landon blurted out, causing the smaller Waithe to laugh.
"Ruby?! What the hell?!" Rafael blurted, getting to his feet before he raced over to embrace her. Taken back by force, Ruby clung to her brother, laughing as she hugged him back tightly. "I never thought I'd see you again." Rafael said, tears threatening to fall. "I.. I'm so sorry—"
"Enough." Ruby insisted, stepping back from her twin brother. "It wasn't your fault, okay?" She huffed. Rafael doesn't respond, and pulled her in for another hug. "Can we get inside? The sun is annoyingly bright." Ruby asked, still being squeezed by her brother. "Wait.. what do you mean?" Landon asked, approaching the twins now.
Ruby pulled away from Rafael again, and faced the boys. "I think I'm transitioning, into a vampire. A hybrid basically." She explained. "How? Hope's blood was out of your system..." Landon trailed off. Ruby shook her head, "When I left the gym after trying to stall Josie with Monica and Jordan, I went to the infirmary." She began, before biting her lip.
"I couldn't stand by while some of my best friends were in evil Josie's presence, so I took a vial of Hope's blood and planned to go back and make sure everyone was okay." She said, before her shoulders slumped. "But I saw you guys on the docks as I was walking back, and you were both acting so strange, so I had to see what was going on."
"Then.. you died.." Rafael managed to say, in almost a whisper. Ruby nodded, "I'm terrified right now.. and I don't know if I'm going to complete the transition, but I couldn't stay dead knowing that you were going to blame yourself for all of this." The Waithe said, looking to her twin.

Rafael, Ruby and Landon entered the school, bumping into the Montgomery's. "Ruby!?" Monica blurted, doing a double take. "No way." Jordan gasped, completely surprised yet relieved his former friend was back from the dead.
