Chapter 18

Sofia's POV
Monday
"I believe everyone of you know that the exams are coming up" said our homeroom teacher

"And I know all of you are maybe stressing about the exams. So here's something to elighten your day" said our homeroom teacher with a smile

"What could possibly elighten our day when exams are coming up" said Eleanor as she rest her head on her hand

I just shrug as I continue to listen to what our homeroom teacher might say. But the situation between me and Hugo just keeps on bugging me

"We are going to Paris after the exams. The school decided to let you all enjoy the time with your friends and turn this year into a most memorable year of all" said our homeroom teacher

"Paris ? Seriously?" said Eleanor with her eyes wide open "Top 1 romantic city in the world check"

That's kinda exciting for the school couples of course. But still, I always wanted to visit Paris's bakery

"That's the perfect place!" said Daxton as he clap his hands together

"For what?" I asked

"To ask yo- her! Yes to ask her out" said Daxton

"Oh uh good luck then" I said with a light smile

We were then dismiss by our homeroom teacher and then all of us walk out of the classroom still in the 'going to Paris' topic

"Hugo ! Wait up" I called out which make Hugo stop in his tracks as he turn to face me without speaking

"I.... Did I do something wrong? You haven't spoken to me the whole day... If yes, I'm sorry for everything" I said as I look at him in the eye

He then slowly gave me a light smile before saying "No, you did not do anything wrong. It's just me-" a tear then escape from his eye as he quickly wipe it off

"Hugo, you're cry-"

"No no I'm fine, my eyes are just dry. Now if you excuse me" said Hugo as he then turn to leave

Did I really hurt him? Maybe I should give him sometime alone

"Hey, you alright there Sof?" asked a person as they place their hand on my shoulder from the back "You've been standing there for a while now"

"I- I don't know" I said as I turn to face them

"You can tell me, here" said Daxton as he gave me his hand "Grab it"

I then took his hand as he then lead me to the garden

"Take a seat, and here" said Daxton as he pass me a packet of tissue "So tell me what's bugging you?"

"I don't know how to start-" I said as I grab the packet of tissue from his hands

Daxton didn't say a word as he pulled me into a tight hug which took me by surprise "Relax, take your time. I'm not rushing you" he then pulled away

I then adjust my seat before looking at him again "Aren't you be busy? Like the trip to Paris is gonna be in a week or 2"

"Why would I be busy?" said Daxton as he look at me "If you're talking about the whole asking her out thing, that's not important now. Friends before girls right"

I wanted to tell him about everything that's going on but I'm struggling to find the way to start this conversation. My mouth just open and shut since I couldn't find the right word to start

"Hey hey, just relax" said Daxton as he look at me with a worried face as he  pats my back

"Sofia please, if you don't want to talk about it just don't okay? Don't force yourself. For now just relax your mind" said Daxton who is trying to hide his worried face

"I want to, but I couldn't find the right word to-" I said

"Ok come here" said Daxton as he turn my body

He then place a kiss on my forehead, not just a kiss but a gentle, warm and unexpected kiss

"What are you doing?" I asked as I look at him blankly

"I read about a kiss could help to release stress. And I'm guessing it did help" said Daxton with a light chuckle

Everything that's going on in my head suddenly they were nothing. I couldn't even move it seem like I'm paralysed

"Shit I guess that went too far" said Daxton as he swing his palm in front of my eyes

"No no-" I said as I laugh awkwardly

"Are you fine? Alright? Good?" asked Daxton

"Yea totally-" I said as I got up "Don't wanna be late for derby practice"

Daxton hesitated at first before standing up with a nod as he then put his arms around my shoulder

"You know, you could always talk to any of us with your problems, we had been friends for how long? 3 years 4 years?" said Daxton as we walk to the stables

"I know, it's just hard for me to explain since I don't know what's the reason" I said "But thank you, for being the friend that I could ever ask for" I then gave him a hug

"Your welcome princess" said Daxton as he hug me back

Is this the kind of fairytale I always wanted? Well watching high school Romance is one of my favorite things to do. I would always dream that I would have a high school crush and then to a sweet romance without any drama. Even though me and Daxton are not a thing but, I just love how he's turning out to be different in my opinion. And I am definitely not in to his looks

But throughout the years of being friends. He became even more mature, he keeps me companied most of the time, all those caring supportive words that he said to me once.... and I just couldn't bare to think that one day he is someone else's....At first, I like him for his character, his personality. But as time grew I find myself having a strange affection towards him like I never felt towards anyone before and there was no reason to not like him. Some of my friends said that you don't need to know what makes you like or love that person, your action and your feelings around that person shows it all.

Amber said love is very complex but you will have a powerful emotion inside you towards them. I guess I do, he and Hugo are the only opposite sex  friends that I can truly talk about my feelings and everything. Even if I had trouble saying it, they would understand. But my feelings just grow towards Daxton
