Chapter 42

Sofia's POV

Watching Hugo skating freely on the ice reminds me of those days we had before, no distraction, no nothing. It's like watching an figure skating program in person, watching them giving all their love towards ice skating. 

As I was putting on my skates, a distant friction between the blades of the skate and the ice were now closer than ever. "Are you done?" Hugo asked while leaning forward onto the railing " Well we don't have much time left, but you are a fast learner so we definitely have no problem" he then skated away. 

I quickly got up from my position as I headed towards the entrance of the rink. Without wasting any time, the both of us started practicing the routine together, skipping the only part where I had trouble with. Overall we have no problem with the whole routine except I kept messing up Icy float , which we have been trying for the past 30 minutes.

"Why not we take a 5 minute break ?" said Hugo while skating around in little circles "You couldn't perfect this skill if you're stressing out" yes, he does have a point, but there's really no time left, more likely I still have approximately 35 minutes left before the exam.

Without even replying to him, I keep on trying as I push myself up into the air. I might have perfected it once or twice but never continuously. And I don't really know how long I have been at it for. All I have to do is to get it right no matter what. "Sofia sto- "

Before I could even spin, I felt a huge mass weighing me down. I can't really control myself anymore, my body isn't responding either. As I thought I would hit the ground in no time, a pair of arms suddenly warp around my waist ,with my feet slowly touching the ground. "You're stubborn as ever, you should have listened to me earlier " said Hugo as he rolled his eyes 

As he pulled my arms to move forward, my legs weren't responding . He then pause, looking at me from head to toe , he then kneel down signaling me to hop on. I still wasn't sure if I should hop onto his back or not, it might be troublesome too. " Just hop on, don't worry I won't drop you " 

He then carried me on his back all the way to the bleachers, taking off my skates, setting it aside. " Take a break from now on, the skates are heavy so I'm leaving it here for you" he told me while he sat beside me. " What are you gonna do after we graduate? I can't believe you still don't know your body's limit at this age" he shook his head, raising a hand, flatly. 

" Get someone to date me " I replied swinging my leg back and forth on the cement " Or I could just take care of myself, besides this kind of situation doesn't happen often" I turn to look at Hugo, only to see him giving me an eye rolled again. " Be careful on not getting your pupils stuck at the back of your eye" I added, sarcastically. 

After at least a 15 minutes of our little break, which felt like a whole long hour to me, my body had slowly come back to it senses. Knowing my strength gain back after the resting, I carried my skates up as soon as possible, not until Hugo's hand stop me from doing it so. "What?" I asked, quite annoyed by it. 

Hugo then stood up, facing towards me, shaking his head once again. " You should know better than this," he placed both of his arms on his hips, letting out a sigh . " You definitely still have a brain of a child, despite being a 17 year old girl" giving me a pat on the head. After hearing that should I feel offended or should I even be happy about having a happy child's brain?

Hold up- Did he just patted my head? Having others patting my head instead of my family felt weird, I can't help but blushed at that. I can feel Hugo's gaze on me, while I was looking elsewhere preventing him from seeing my red flushed face. " Don't tell me- " said Hugo as he bend down, still can feel the grin or smirk his having on his face right now .

" NOTHING " I said as loud and as fast as I could. All I could hear next was Hugo's chuckled,the next thing he does was unexpected, I didn't expect him to pet my head once more as he left for the rink. " Hurry up then" Hugo called out "Don't wanna waste any more time, do we?"

I quickly put on my skates, then meeting Hugo in the middle of the rink. Hugo's right. After taking a break, I finally started to get the hang of the movement quickly then before. We soon started practicing the whole routine over and over again until the ice skaters arrive. The both of us then went back to the bleachers as we wait for the examination to start. Suddenly a person gave me a tap on the shoulder, it was Ayanna. 

" Are you guys finally dating?" she asked eyeing me to Hugo.

"What? No, where did you even get the idea from? " I asked looking at her with widen eyes" Besides I like someone else" I continued. Suddenly a train of thought run through my mind, did she maybe saw the whole interaction during our break? Wait, that was a misunderstanding. I then look at her once more, as she shove her phone to me 

"Look at this, if this is not love, I don't know what is " Ayanna said while swiping the picture from left to right. It was all from the routine we did, and some were taken from the inside of the building. "Let me tell you, those who passed by that window and saw this, actually thinks the both of you are dating " she then slide her phone into her bag " So you guys aren't dating?" she added

I shook my head firmly. "Now that sucks, I'm pretty sure you both like each other" said Ayanna. What does she actually meant? "The way you guys cooperate and that look in your eyes is definitely different from how we skate with our partner, well I guess I'm wrong then"

"Wait are we ignoring the fact that you took pictures of us ?" totally ignoring what she said after thinking me and Hugo have feelings for each other. She then look at me with an awkward smile, shaking her head as fast as she could, and we both know she lied. "Delete those" I command, pointing at her bag

"Alright- alright , but can I keep at least one?" 

"No way"

Me and Hugo? Being together ? Probably in the next life. I really can't imagine dating him. 

(A/N: Yup, it almost a month since I last updated. Well the truth is, I have trouble continuing and also my school just reopen and everything went out of hand, and of course procrastination, once I found a show, I probably put this behind. But just to tell you guys, whatever I started, I would always finish it no matter how long it takes. So you don't have to wonder if I'm ever gonna continuing posting or not.
