My eyes fluttered open feeling something/ somebody moving. I sat up looking beside me to see a dog. It was a cute little dog.

"Awe." I said with my deep ass voice. I coughed a little just to clear my throat. I looked at the dogs collar, it was a girl and her name was Sunny.

"Hey Sunny." I rubbed her a little bit. That's when I noticed I wasn't at home. As I looked around the room that's when I knew, I was in Chicago. This room was from the house my mother lived in.

I quickly got up, my arm was so sore. I went over to the full body mirror noticing the different clothes I had on. Looking at my face I tilted my head. My lip was busted with dried blood, same with my nose.

I shook my head looking around for my shoes. When I found them I quickly put them on. I left out the room not seeing anybody nor did I hear anybody. Going down the stairs it was the same thing. I quickly went over to the door but got stopped.

"Good morning ." I turned around now face to face with Dash. I never forget a face or a voice.

"You not gon speak?" I mugged him and he only laughed.

"Move."

"What?"

"Move, before you get moved." I said, he still didn't move though and I was going to push him but he grabbed my wrist.

"You've grown a lot." He smiled and I looked at him in disgust.

"Definitely not a little girl anymore."

"Damn right." I wasn't intimidated at all like I would've been years ago.

"Dash, get away from her please." He tightened the grip he had on my wrist before letting go. I did a small whimper then look at it. My wrist was so red, for sure a bruise would come.

I looked up and my eyes landed on my mother. Staring at her didn't bring me joy, I wasn't thankful to see her. I didn't feel anything. I just had so many questions and wanted every single one of them to get answered.

She walked over to me, my eyes never left hers.

"Hey babygirl." She tried to touch me but I moved away. A tear rolled down her face but she wiped it remaining having the same stupid smile on her face.

"You've grown so much."

"Mother of 4 kids." Her smile grew bigger.

"I have grandkids-"

"You don't have anything. Nothing or nobody but Dash and that coke you still sniffing." She shook her head.

"Don't say that-"
