I sat in the waiting room of the hospital with everybody else. We had all been here for maybe almost and hour. The doctors still haven't told us anything and we couldn't go see her yet. I was really worried, it was just all the sudden that it happened.

I looked over at Jonnie, she was just sitting there with her leg bouncing up and down and she had tears running down her face. I touched her hand and she looked at me. I use to have a strong hate for this girl but now I love her like she's my sister.

"She's going to be ok." I said.

"You say that, but you don't know that." She replied looking down.

"You're right, I'm hoping though." She shook her head starting to cry and I just held her hand. Skylar came over to her giving her a hug. You could really tell Jonnie loved Javen a lot, no matter how many fights they get into whether they be serious or not. The love remains the same on both ends. They've been through a lot together, neither of them needed this nor did they deserve this.

"Parents of Javen Scott!" Hearing the doctor say that we all hopped up going over to her.

"Which one is the parent?"

"I'm her sister but she lives with me. I'm her guardian." Jonnie said.

"You guys are?"

"Her friends." Skylar said.

"Family are the only ones w-"

"We are family, what the hell wrong with her?" I asked and she sighed not saying anything.

"Look, we don't need your attitude right now. Just please tell us." Jonnie said.

"Ok fine....."

"Ms. Scott has been diagnosed with stage two Leukemia." We all looked at each other.

Javen?....

"How bad is that?" Jonnie asked.

"Bad, and it could possibly get worse. We will try chemotherapy treatment but that will cost." She said.

"How much?" Ben asked.

"Well the total cost will be over 100 thousand dollars." Jonnie's jaw dropped, we all knew we didn't have that type of money. If we did we wouldn't be living the way we are.

"Ma'am we don't have that type of money. Is there anyway you can possibly just do it?" Skylar asked and she shook her head.

"No, I'm sorry I wish we could. Money or no treatment." She said.

"I got it." Everybody looked at me.

"Alright, well we will start the treatment next week. It could go on for weeks or months ok. Now this treatment doesn't necessarily mean it will go away forever completely but our goal is for it to be gone for at least a few years." We nodded.
