*WANDA'S POV*

I knew what was going to happen, I knew what he was going to say. "Listen, Tony," I started, "y/n hasn't even spent a day recovering from your cruelty, look at her!" I gestured to where y/n was sat behind me. "She hasn't eaten in god knows how long, she is petrified of everyone, especially you and..." Nat grabbed my arm, causing me to stop what I was saying. She gestured to y/n who was sat facing us, tears streaming down her face. "Now look what you've done," Tony said, mockingly, "come here y/n, let's take you back where you belong," He continued, reaching out an arm, gesturing for her to come to stand next to him. Y/n slowly got up, walking towards Tony. "Umm no way," Nat said, taking y/n under her arm, shielding her from Tony. "Let's go," She said, leading y/n in the opposite direction to Tony.

My blood boiled, I could kill Tony right now. I sighed and sat down. "How did you even meet y/n? What made you pick her to be your little pet?" I asked, not even sure if I wanted to know the answers. "I know a guy," he replied. "A guy?! You know a guy? That's bullshit, Tony! She is not some horse being sold around from home to home after someone has done with her." I was furious with Tony. At that moment I wanted so desperately to slap him around the face. "What can I say?" Tony said as he left the room, leaving me alone with Vision. Bruce must have gone with Nat and y/n down to the lab and I have no idea what happened to Thor.

"Why are you so defensive of her?" Vision asked. I looked at him, shocked. "Don't get me wrong," he continued, "I think that the way Tony treats her is morally wrong but I think it's more than that for you. I don't know what it is, maybe it's because you feel like you are responsible for her as you were the only one who knew about her, or maybe it's something else?" He narrowed his eyes at me. I stood, staring at him. I didn't answer. I wasn't trying to be rude I just genuinely didn't know the answer. I walked past Vision and headed down to the lab to see y/n and the rest of the team.

*Y/N's POV*

I sat down on the hospital bed where Nat cradled me. Neither of us said anything; we both sat in comfortable silence. I was calming myself down, focusing on my breathing. At least I knew I was wanted, by both Stark and the team, just for different reasons. The sound of the door went, causing me to look up. A sigh of relief escaped my lips. It was Dr.Banner. Anyone other than Stark pleased me. "Hi y/n, would you be happy for me to check your stitches and take some blood? I need to check a few things if that's ok?" Banner asked. I nodded my head in response as he smiled gently. "Y/n do you have any family that I could call. I just think it's best if you don't stay here." Nat asked, a concerned look plastered on her face. I looked at the floor. "I...umm... I don't have any family," I mumbled. "I...ugh...I grew up in an orphanage after my mum had me. I don't know why but that's where I grew up but they kicked me out when I turned 16. I...I don't have anywhere to go." I couldn't bring myself to look at her so I stayed staring at the floor. We stayed in silence until Banner came over to check my stitches. "Looking good y/n," Banner said, "Are you feeling ok? No dizziness or nausea?" I shook my head in response. "Ok good. Could I take some blood? I just need to check a few things." Banner asked. I caught a glimpse of Nat's confused face. I didn't want to speak so I just nodded my head. Bruce took some blood as I sat staring at the floor.

"So you're 16, y/n?" Nat asked. I could almost sense the cogs turning in her head, I knew there was something she wasn't telling me.  "Um... yeah. I...I don't know when my birthday is but I just go by the day I was dropped off at the orphanage. The 15th November." Nat's face was drained of all color. "Are you ok?" I asked. "Yeah," She replied, "I just need some air. Will you be ok alone for a minute? I need to talk to Bruce." I nodded my head in response. At that moment, Wanda walked in, a look of concern on her face until her gaze met mine. Her eyes softened and a slight smile formed on her face. She looked at Nat and Bruce walking out and the previous concern washed over her face again.

*WANDA'S POV*

I looked Nat dead in the eye and knew instantly something wasn't right. I looked at Bruce and he looked just as concerned and confused as I felt. At least it wasn't y/n. Nat looked at me, tears nearly falling down her face silently. She gave me a slight shake of her head, answering my question of if there was a problem with y/n. Nat and Bruce left the room, leaving me and y/n alone in the lab. "Hey," I said, a smile on my face, "how are you doing?" "Did I say something wrong?" y/n asked, her voice shaking, "I just answered Nat's question and... and then she got all upset and I don't know what I said or did-" "Hey hey hey it's ok, it's ok. " I cut off her rambling as I walked over to her and cradled her as she buried her head in my chest, tears flowing down her cheeks.

She eventually stopped crying and we sat in comfortable silence, waiting for Bruce or Nat to come back. The door opened and we both looked up simultaneously. Bruce walked in. "The tests will take a while to come back so ill see you same time tomorrow and we can go over it?" He asked y/n. She nodded her head and looked at me, her (your eye color) eyes looked deep into mine expectantly. I smiled down at her "Yeah, we'll be down tomorrow" I said, getting up, y/n following suit. We walked out of the room and into the main area which only had Steve and Thor in. "Hey guys," Steve said, "Wanna watch a film with us?" y/n looked at me as if to ask if that included her. I nodded slightly and walked over towards the sofa, sitting down and motioning for y/n to sit next to me.
