I was so incredibly happy to finally be let out of the hospital after an extra five days! Because it was a head injury they wanted to make sure that everything was absolutely perfect before I could leave. Don't get me wrong I know they're just doing their job but I want to go home to my family and go back to being a Mum.
But that idea was soon destroyed when I got home because I was under strict rules to have bed rest for a few days and Aston made sure I didn't move from our bed. I was just glad that I was well enough for Christmas. Our little girls' first Christmas! To say me and Aston are exited would be an understatement. We completely went overboard with the decorations, the presents, everything! Aston even came home last week with two little Elf outfits for the girls to wear on Christmas Day, they were unbelievably cute.
On Christmas morning we took the girls straight downstairs to give them their bottles before letting them attempt to open their presents, even though they were both more interested in the paper than the actual gifts.
"We should've just given them the roll of wrapping paper." Aston laughed as he sat back and watched Sophia rip up a piece of wrapping paper, now that they were ten months old they could sit up all by themselves.
"I think Ava's more interested in the box." I giggled, watching her crawl inside a box that I'd taken the toy out of.
"She's-No no no Soph, not in your mouth babe." Aston said, jumping up off the couch and taking the paper out of her mouth.
"Mumma!"
Whilst Aston was on the floor he helped Ava get out of the box as one of the flaps had closed shut on her.
"Did she just say what I thought she said?" I asked as Aston sat her on his knee and bounced her up and down a bit to try and calm her down.
"I think she did." He smiled, settling on putting Ava's dummy in her mouth, clipping it to her clothes so we don't lose it.
"She said my name!" I grinned as joined all of them on the floor and took Ava off Aston and cuddled her so tight.
"She sure did," Aston said as he took Sophia and sat her on his knee whilst she shook one of her new toys in her hand. "Now it's your turn Soph, I need you to say Daddy because Daddy doesn't want to be out fifty quid."
"Stop it!" I giggled as I smacked his arm and he smirked at me.
"Da," Sophia babbled as Aston rolled his eyes before looking down at her.
"No babe, Daddy."
"Mm,"
"No not Mummy, Daddy. Da-ddy."
"Mumma." Ava said, reaching her arms out.
"Yeah that's great Ava. Soph say Daddy."
"She'll say it when you least expect it, I've no doubt her first word's going to be Daddy." I said as I sat Ava down in between my legs.
"I bloody hope so." Aston sighed as I rolled my eyes.
"It will, look," I started before holding my hands out to Sophia. "You coming to Mummy?" As soon as I asked her she frowned and looked up at Aston.
"Daddy's little girl." He laughed as he tickled Sophia's belly making her giggle cutely.
We spent the rest of Christmas morning playing with the girls and their presents and then whilst they had their 2 o'clock nap me and Aston exchanged our gifts with each other. Aston had taken the girls out one afternoon whilst I was work and had a proper photo of all three of them done and had it blown up so that I could put it in my office, that had to be my favourite present that he'd gotten me. He'd bought me a few perfumes and a necklace that I absolutely loved, we didn't get each other much because we said we'd focus on the girls for the next few years. I'd had Sophia and Ava's hand & footprints done in a clay mould with their names written underneath their moulds. He absolutely loved them, but he was undecided as to where he was going to put them. In the end he settled with putting the footprints on the fireplace in the living room and the handprints on his bedside table.
Once the girls were awake we took them down to Astons parents' house for Christmas dinner. Everyone loved seeing the twins and they were constantly giggling with every family member. It was the best Christmas I've had so far, bar when me and Aston got engaged, there was no drama and it was our first Christmas with the kids. It was perfect.
