"Thanks for dinner." I smiled as we sat side by side on the beach.
After dinner, Aston thought it'd be a nice idea to go for a walk on the beach, which I had to admit was very romantic.
"Thanks for finally agreeing to come with me," Aston laughed, nudging me with his shoulder as we sat side by side.
"It wasn't as bad as you thought, was it?" He joked as I shook my head.
"Then, why were you so adamant on not dating me?" He asked, more seriously.
"Because, it's weird." I giggled, crossing one leg over the other.
"Weird? How's it weird?"
"You're famous for a start."
"You sure that's the real reason?" Aston asked, looking at me with a soft expression.
"Yes." I said as he raised his eyebrows at me.
"No." I sighed.
"Then what is it?" He asked, taking my hand in his and resting both of our hands on his leg.
"I had a boyfriend..about two years ago now and it was great, but after one night out everything just changed."
"Get outta here, you've not had a boyfriend for two years?" Aston asked as I nodded.
"I find that pretty hard to believe." He smiled sweetly as I smiled back at him.
"Well believe it..Anyway, we were out for my birthday and obviously people were buying me drinks left right and centre, so I gave some to Andy, my boyfriend, because there was no way I was going to drink them all by myself," I said as Aston nodded along.
"Around about one o'clock I stopped drinking, so I gave all my drinks to Andy. Then an hour later I couldn't find him, I searched everywhere, I eventually found him out back laughing and joking with his friends. I was going to go confront him when I heard my name so I stopped just behind the door to listen to him. I really wish that I hadn't," I laughed softly, looking out at the sea.
"He was mocking me and my job to his friends. Saying that I was just a nobody who thought she could make it, saying that my designs were as good as anything that a four year old could draw with their odd hand..And that, I've been setting myself up for failure since I started." I said, feeling tears well up in my eyes.
"Babe," Aston started, squeezing my hand. "I'm so sorry...Your designs are some of the best I've ever seen, you're definitely going to get far with them, you just need to believe in yourself."
"You're just saying that because of what I've just told you." I sighed, shaking his hand off mine and putting mine back on my own leg.
"I'm really not," He said, taking my hand again. "I wouldn't wear your designs if I didn't like them, you're really talented and I know for a fact you're going to do so so well with this job...Fuck that Andy guy, he lost an amazing girl because of some stupid lies."
"Thanks Ast." I smiled, resting my head on his shoulder.
"No problem," Aston said as he kissed the top of my head.
"But that still doesn't answer my question, why didn't you want to date me?"
"I thought was Andy said was true and I didn't want to hear it again, so for me not to hear it again-"
"You didn't date anyone else." Aston finished.
"I know it's stupid-"
"It's not stupid, I get it."
"You do?"
"Yeah, when I first started out in this band like before the X factor, I cut all of the people who didn't believe in me out of my life, I didn't need the negativity."
"I guess you do get it." I giggled as Aston squeezed my hand again.
"Course..Seeing as I'm never going to say anything like that to you, how about we try this out?" He asked as I lifted my head off his shoulder.
"Me and you?" I asked as he nodded.
"We only just met the other day." I laughed.
"So?"
"We hardly know each other!"
"And? We've got five weeks for all that. All I know is that you're cool and I really like you, a lot actually." He smiled, rubbing his thumb over the top of my hand.
"If we do this, can we take it slow? Boyfriend and girlfriend sounds a bit scary to me right now."
"Sure, how about..we're just dating exclusively?"
"I guess so, but we can't tell the others," I started Aston frowned at me. "It's not worth all the arguments from the girls, about the fact that it's a girls holiday."
"Whatever you want." He smiled before leaning in and kissing me ever so softly.
