I woke up the next morning with a heavy heart. Seeing Aston lay beside me peacefully nearly broke me, I can't believe I'm leaving him for three months. But he knows that if this wasn't such a big deal then I'd probably be staying at home.
Begrudgingly, I got out of bed to get a shower ready to change into my travelling clothes. I wasn't wearing anything special, just some leggings, a long shirt and a cute pair of flats, I just needed something comfortable for my flight. Going back into the bedroom to make sure I had everything I needed in my bag and do my hair, I spotted Aston sat up in bed.
"This is weird," He started as I looked up from my bag. "Normally it's me leaving, now I know how you feel."
"You'll get over it, you'll get used to me not being around, you won't want me to come back." I giggled, zipping up my bag and switching my straighteners on.
"Course I'll want you to come back, I don't even want you to leave."
"Babe it's not permanent, it's only three months." I laughed, sitting next to him on the bed on my knees.
"Yeah, but it's three months away from you," He said softly, moving a piece of hair out of my face. "Leaving you in St Lucia for three weeks and five weeks for tour was hard enough."
"Like I told you last night, every day I'm over there is a day closer to when I'm coming home, just think of it that way." I smiled before my straighteners beeped and I got off the bed to attend to my hair.
Once my hair was finished, I switched off my straighteners and unplugged them from the wall. Quickly doing my make up, I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs to put it by my suitcases. I nipped into the kitchen to make myself some toast, just a little something before I leave because there's no doubt Mark will buy us all breakfast in the airport. But sooner rather than later, my taxi arrived outside the house at half past seven.
"I'm sorry I can't take you to the airport." Aston sighed as he took my hands in his own.
"It's fine, you've got work, it couldn't be helped." I smiled, giving his hands a light squeeze.
"I know, it's just shit that this is the last time I'm seeing you."
"I'm not dying babe." I laughed as he rested his forehead on mine.
"Don't joke about that Luce," He sighed, just before my taxi beeped the horn. "I'll definitely pick you up from the airport yeah?"
"You'd better!" I joked as he eventually cracked a smile.
"December 22nd, six o'clock, I'll be there."
"Make sure of it. I've really got to go now." I sighed as the horn made yet another appearance.
"Alright, be your amazing self and they'll love you," Aston smiled before pressing his lips on mine. "Just like I do...I'll see you soon babe."
"Uh uh." I frowned as he released me and stepped backwards.
"'Uh uh' what?"
"I'm leaving you for three months and that's all I get?" I asked as Aston shrugged his shoulders, confused written across his face. "Wow." I scoffed as I turned to grab my bag.
"Get over here." I heard Aston tut before his hand gripped mine and spun me around to face him, pulling me into his body, his lips not missing a beat as they firmly planted themselves on mine as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I really..need to..go." I breathed in between kisses.
"I know..But maybe I'll just keep kissing you so you'll stay."
"Nice try mister." I smirked as I pulled away.
"It was worth a shot." He shrugged as I opened the front door to the taxi driver, who offered to put my suitcases in the boot for me.
Aston's P.O.V.
"I'll have to love you and leave you Merrygold." Luce sighed as she stepped foot out of the door.
"I'm gonna miss you saying that." I said as I leaned on the doorframe.
"What? Merrygold?"
"Love you."
"Softie," She giggled, standing up on her tiptoes to kiss me as she wrapped an arm around my neck, resting her hand on the back of my head. "But I do love you."
"Love you too," I smiled before kissing her again. "Show Paris what you've got yeah?"
"I'll try." She laughed as we parted and she lifted her bag up higher on her shoulder before turning and heading towards her taxi.
"By the way," Luce said as she got halfway down the driveway, spinning around on her heels.
"That shade suits you." She winked before turning back around and getting into the taxi.
Frowning, I took out my phone and switched on the camera, turning it on the front camera to look at myself. Only to see that my lips were a shade of faded neon pink.
I couldn't help but laugh at her as she smiled at me through the taxi window before eventually pulling away and heading off to the airport. My heart going with her.
