A week after the twins were born we were getting ready to take them into mine and Astons work to show them to everybody. Astons band mates would've come to see the girls sooner but they've been majorly busy in the studio recording for their next album, some time that Astons going to have to make up once his paternity leave finishes.
"Do you think they've enough pink on them?" Aston chuckled as he put Ava's arm into her cardigan sleeve.
"Just making sure people know they're girls." I shrugged, laying Sophia down on our bed.
"How could anyone not know they're girls? Look how gorgeous they are." He tutted as he fastened her buttons.
"Yeah well after Riley asked what the boys' names were I just want to make sure."
"Babe Riley's seven, I'm sure everyone else knows that they're girls."
"Not chancing it." I said as I left Aston to watch the twins whilst I got myself changed.
Once I'd dressed into something more appropriate than my pyjamas we took the girls and secured them in their car seats before heading downstairs to collect their bags. Aston took both of the car seats to the car, leaving me to lock up whilst he strapped them both in. Sooner rather than later we set off to my office, arriving there a mere fifteen minutes afterwards.
"Hey look who's back!" Michele, the receptionist, smiled as I used my swipe card to let us in.
"Hey." I smiled as I placed Sophia's car seat on the floor before putting my swipe card back in my purse.
"Ooh let me see!" She said excitedly before leaving her desk and coming round to the front to see the girls. "Hey Aston."
"Nice to see you again." He smiled politely as I passed Sophia over to Michele.
"Luce she's adorable." She tutted as I lifted the baby bag up on my shoulder.
"I know, isn't she?"
"Babe I'm gonna take Ava up to your office, she's getting fussy." Aston told me as he picked up the car seat.
"Okay, here take my key." I said as I dug my keys out of the bag and passed them to him.
"I'll be back in a bit." He said before making his way into the lift up to my office.
"So how's everything been with these two?" Michele asked, nodding down at Sophia.
"It's not easy but we're doing okay." I smiled.
"Have you got them in a routine yet?"
"We're starting to, they just want to sleep at the minute," I giggled before Sophia spit up on her cardigan. "Oh god, let me get her a fresh one..I could've sworn I packed one."
"You brought spare cardigans?"
"Yeah, I've started taking spares of everything with me. I've got a spare outfit for myself in the car," I laughed as I continued to search through the bag. "Oh shoot, this is Ava's bag. Her cardigan's upstairs."
"No no stay there, I'll get it."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah it's fine, go and get yourself a drink." Michele smiled before heading towards the lift, taking Sophia with her.
I picked up Sophia's car seat and bag before going down the hall to the drinks machine to get myself a nice hot coffee. My intention was to go straight up to my office once I had a drink but there were multiple people who kept stopping me in the hallway to congratulate me on the babies and asking to see them, so I had to get my phone out every time. I eventually managed to get into the lift and took it up to my office floor where I was then stopped by Geoff who pulled me into a conversation about the summer line that is already in place and what I need to be doing. But sooner rather than later I was able to go to my office, only to be surprised at what I saw.
