We did a bit of shopping before heading down to the harbour to get some lunch with a lovely view of the Statue of Liberty, then we spent the rest of the afternoon doing some more shopping and I have to say that some of the outfits we've picked out are insanely cute. We've decided that we don't want to know what gender the babies are until they arrive, really it was Ast who didn't want to know so it wouldn't be fair if I knew and came home with dresses or dungarees would it?
My fashion show soon came around and it was such a huge success! All of the seats were filled and I couldn't get enough of the sound of people applauding my designs. I couldn't have been any happier than how it'd gone, it was the perfect day. Ast was incredible, as always, he's like my biggest fan and it's so sweet. I was just so grateful that I could share this moment with him, he's been by my side since my career properly took off and helped me with many decisions, it wouldn't have felt right if he wasn't there with me.
Although my show was the main reason why we were in New York, the real benefit was that we actually had a week together. Sure I was working for a small amount of time but for the most part we were just spending time together, and I couldn't have picked a better city to do it in. Once the twins get here we're barely going to have time to ourselves never mind with each other, so we really have to make the most of these next few months.
But right now I'm about six months pregnant and we've just come back from our lamaze class, where we've been for the last two hours. It completely freaked me out. I've never given birth before, sure I had Lilly but that was a caesarean. How do they expect me to get a tiny person out of me? Sorry, not person, people!
"Babe will you quit freaking out?" Aston asked as he held the front door open for me.
"No, you saw the tape, how am I supposed to do that?" I huffed, throwing my coat onto the banister.
"Luce you'll be fine, there's nothing to worry about."
"That's easy for you to say, you're not the one doing it." I said as I followed Ast into the kitchen.
"No I'm not, but you saw how happy the woman was when it was all over." He said, filling the kettle up with water.
"Yeah so? It's still painful!"
"I don't doubt it, but at the end of it we're gonna have our babies and you'll forget all about the pain. Just calm down."
"How can I calm down? In three months I'm going to be squeezing two little people out of me! Don't tell me to calm down!"
"Hey behave," He tutted, leaving the cups before coming over to me and wrapping me up in his arms. "Everything's going to be fine, you'll have all the painkillers they can give you but you don't know what it's going to be like until it happens."
"I hate that you're not scared." I mumbled as he ran his hands up and down my back.
"Not scared? Babe I'm terrified."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I don't want to see you in so much pain."
"I'll transfer some to your hand don't worry." I giggled as he pulled away as the kettle finished boiling.
"I'm positive you will. Listen if you're that worried about giving birth then why don't you talk to someone who's already done it. How about your mum?" Aston asked, passing me my cup.
"No, I'm not asking her." I said definitely as we moved into the living room.
"Why not? She had three kids-"
"I haven't told her I'm pregnant!"
"What? Luce!"
"I told you that if she didn't accept my career then she couldn't come to the wedding, she's not accepted it and I've not spoken to her since." I shrugged, taking a sip of my tea.
"Babe she's your mum, they're her grandchildren, don't you think she deserves to know?"
"She's already got grandkids, two more isn't going to make a difference. Anyway I don't know why you're sticking up for her-"
"I'm not, I just think you'd be happier if your mum knew."
"I'd be happier if she accepted my career."
"Babe come on, your mum should at least know we're having babies."
"No, she doesn't deserve to know. Now drop it." I huffed, leaving my cup on the coffee table and heading upstairs, leaving Aston on his own.
