Our Christmas was lovely. It was such a chilled out day spending it with the people that we love. Aston took me to his parents' house and I took him to mine before we headed back to my apartment for Christmas dinner.
But Christmas and New Year were over and done with quicker than we expected them to be and our postponed six month anniversary soon arrived. And it was so romantic, well, the Friday and Sunday were. On Saturday the kids stopped over at Astons for the night and they had a blast! Aston was getting proper involved in all of the games and playing with them all, ordering out for tea before we ended up tiring them out for 8 o'clock.
The Friday at the spa was heaven, exactly what I needed. Aston won't admit it but he loved it too, especially the massages. Sunday was just perfect. Aston locked us away for the whole day. Our phones were switched off, the home phone was unplugged, the laptops were off, it was like his house was just one big Chill Room. We stayed in our pyjamas all day, messed around as we baked cakes, watched about three seasons worth of Friends and then we obviously spent half of the night awake whilst I thanked Aston for such a perfect anniversary.
Right now it's March and I've just been called into my boss' office for an important meeting. I presumed it was to inform me of the details of the summer line that I was busy designing but I couldn't have been more wrong.
"We can give you the next four or five days to decide, but we really do need to know as soon as possible."
"Y-Yeah, yeah sure, I'll give you a call back in a few days." I stuttered before shaking my boss' hand and leaving his office to head back to my own.
I sunk into my chair as I ran the conversation in my head. This was an amazing opportunity, probably one that I'll never get again but I don't know if I'm ready for this yet. I don't know if I'm good enough for this. I needed to speak to the girls and see what they thought.
For the rest of the day I couldn't concentrate properly at work, my mind just kept of drifting back to the job offer. I left work an hour early, I just couldn't focus and my designs didn't deserve to suffer because of it.
"Hey Luce." Aimee said as I walked through the door.
"Hey." I sighed, throwing my keys into the bowl.
"Are you okay?" She frowned as I went into the kitchen to get a glass of water.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I guess," I mumbled. "I'll be in my room."
"Luce!" Aimee called out before I shut my door.
As much as I needed to talk to the girls about all of this, I just needed a bit of time to myself to figure out what it is that I really want to do.
I changed into my comfiest pair of material shorts and one of Astons t shirts that he'd left here before lying down on bed and running all of the possibilities and problems of this job offer through my mind.
Aimee's P.O.V.
When Luce came in she wasn't acting herself. I know what you're thinking, how can you tell just by her walking through the door? But after you've lived with someone for as long as we have, you get to know these things. I gave her ten minutes before I headed down the hall to her room. She'd left her bedroom door unlocked so I went in and tried to talk to her, find out what was going on, but she just lay there motionless, not saying a word or even looking at me. Something's seriously not right.
I left her room and went back into the living room to grab my phone, giving Aston a call to see if he had any knowledge of what's going on.
"Ast it's Aimee."
"Hey what's up?"
"That's what I was going to ask you."
"What?"
"Has something happened between you and Luce?"
"No, not that I know of, why? Is everything okay?"
"That's the thing, I don't know."
"What do you mean you don't know? Aimee she's okay isn't she?" Aston asked, quite clearly worried.
"I don't know. She came home from work early, hardly said a word then went to her room and now she's just lay on her bed and won't even speak to me." I explained.
"Maybe she's just had a rough day."
"No Ast, if she's had a rough day she'd be ranting to me right now. Something's not right. Are you busy right now?"
"Just in Tesco, listen I'll pop round as soon as I can, I'll try talking to her."
"Great thanks Ast."
"Sure, just keep checking on her til I get there, make sure she's okay."
"I will, see you in a bit."
"See ya."
I just hope Aston can get something out of her and we can find out what's bothering her.
