I couldn't believe it. When Aston first came out of the bathroom I just had it in my head that it was another negative test, just like the others. But then he told me it was positive and I didn't know if he was just winding me up. He wasn't, I was actually pregnant and we're finally having a baby.
"How you feeling?" Aston asked as we lay on the bed together, propped up on his elbow beside me as his other hand gently rubbed my stomach.
"Weird," I giggled as he frowned back at me. "Twenty minutes ago I had no idea what was going on and the whole time I've had a baby inside me."
"It's pretty bizarre if you think of it that way." He chuckled, now taking to drawing shapes on my stomach.
"How about you? How are you feeling?"
"Like the luckiest guy in the whole world," He grinned. "A few months ago we were told we might not have kids yet here we are."
"So what do you want? A girl or a boy?" I asked as he shook his head.
"I honestly don't care as long as they're healthy. With the situation we've been in, I don't think we're in a position to decide on what we want."
"Yeah I guess you're right, I don't really care either."
"You do, you want a girl."
"Wh-How do you know?" I stuttered as he smirked at me with his 'I know everything' look.
"Babe I've known you nearly four years, you're closer with your nieces than your nephews, you spend more time designing girls' kids clothes than boys and you know, you had Lily, it's hardly rocket science." He smiled as I rolled my eyes at him.
"Why do you have to be so smart?" I frowned.
"I'm not, I just seem like it compared to you," He smirked before I smacked him hard on his arm. "Ow!"
"It's not my fault, I've got baby brain." I said as Aston fell back onto the bed laughing before propping himself up again.
"You can only use that for nine months, what's your excuse after that?"
"I'll find one, listen it might not be nine months, we need to book a scan and see how far along I am."
"I'll call the doctors in the morning and make an appointment, they won't be open now," Aston said as he looked at his watch quickly. "I love you, you know that?"
"Yeah," I giggled, picking up his left hand and waving his wedding ring in his face. "And you say I'm the stupid one."
"'Love you too Ast'." He sighed, dropping his hand back to my stomach.
"You know I love you." I laughed as he smiled before placing a delicate kiss against my lips.
"We've got to do everything we can to make sure nothing happens to this baby."
"Well we were gonna do that anyway."
"I know, we've just got to be extra careful."
"We will, don't worry, can I go to sleep now?" I giggled after letting out a yawn for like the sixth time.
"Sure, I'll just talk to the baby."
"Yeah you do that," I laughed as he shuffled down the bed and rested his head above my stomach. "Make yourself comfortable."
"Hey baby it's your Daddy...I don't really care if you're a girl or a boy, I just want you to be here. Me and your Mummy can't wait to meet you, you're already the best thing to happen to us..." I didn't hear anything else after that because I ended up falling asleep right there with Aston lay on my stomach, rubbing it gently.
