Amara's P.O.V
I sat with Jessica and Chris as we celebrated the end of our freshman year of college. We all completed finals last week and the two were sleeping over at Brennan's and I's shared condo. Luckily for Brennan, he had a couple of extra rooms for guests. The three of us were in the living room while some rom-com movie played as background noise.
"So, Jessica. Who do you choose, Harry Styles or Shawn Mendes?" Chris asked.
"Harry! Duh! I love Shawn and all but after he started to date Camilla, I was like, see ya," Jessica laughed.
"You have a point," I mentioned.
"So, Amara. How's it like living so luxuriously?" Chris joked.
"Brennan is just my sugar daddy," I joked back.
"A sugar daddy who you are engaged to," Jessica said, nudging me a little.
"I'm barely using his money," I tell the two.
"What are you buying with his money though?" Chris asked.
"Just probably the wedding stuff. Everything else, I'm gonna use my own money," I tell her.
"Wedding stuff is expensive," Chris told me.
"I know it is. That's why I'm saving up."
"I'm getting hungry," Jessica said as she stood up.
"Should I call the pizza guy already?" I asked.
"Yes please!"
"Mention sending in their cutest delivery person! I wanna see if I can get their number," Jessica said.
"Oh my gosh. That's funny," Chris laughed.
I smiled before standing up to call Pizza Hut in the kitchen. I leaned against the counter as I ordered. Jessica and Chris were talking to each other from what I can hear. I hung up once I finished ordering and walked back to the girls.
"You three seem to be having a good time," I looked over to see Brennan walking over.
"Hi, Brennan!" Chris smiled.
"Hey, Brennan."
"Hi. I am going up to my room and let you girls enjoy your time together," Brennan smiled.
"You can join us. It's not her bachelorette party just yet," Jessica said.
"Are you sure? I thought it was supposed to be a girls' night," Brennan mentioned.
"It's okay with us. Honestly. Unless you have work stuff to do," Chris said.
"Alright. I'm gonna get out of this suit first. Did you girls order dinner?"
"I ordered pizza. It should be coming in soon," I tell him.
"Here's some money for the pizza and the tip," Brennan said as he handed me the money.
"Brennan, you don't have to do that. We have money we pitched in," Chris said with a small pout.
"Think of it as a good job for passing your freshman year of college and for being great friends to Amara."
"Brennan-"
"It's fine," Brennan told me before kissing my head. He grabbed his stuff before heading upstairs to change.
"You two are perfect for one another," Jessica told me.
"I agree. You should've seen him when we were in high school. Brennan made sure that Amara was always safe and protected," Chris said over to Jessica.
"Aw, that's so sweet."
"Yeah. Until his psycho ex came back. His ex was pregnant and lied that it was his which caused Amara and Brennan to break up," Chris said.
"Can we not talk about her?" I asked followed by an uncomfortable laugh.
"You poor thing," Jessica said before engulfing me in a hug.
"I'm fine now," I assured her.
I heard the doorbell ring making me get up to pay for it.
"Wait for me! I wanna see if the delivery person is hot," Jessica said before following behind me.
I opened the door to see a cute girl standing in front of us with a pizza. Jessica's widen a little before leaning against the door.
"Hi there," Jessica smiled.
"Hi. I have two large pepperoni pizzas, buffalo wings with celery, and garlic bread?"
"Yes. That would be us," I smiled.
"Here you go," the girl said before handing us the food. I handed her the money and tip before Jessica took over.
"You're really pretty," Jessica smiled.
"Thank you."
"By any chance, do you swing both ways?" Jessica asked.
"Jessica, you can't ask her like that," I scolded.
"It's fine. And the answer is yes," the pizza delivery girl winked over at Jessica.
"Can I quickly get your number before you leave?" Jessica asked her.
"Sure."
I gave Jessica an impressed look while the delivery girl gave Jessica her number.
"Did she get her number?" Chris asked as both Jessica and I came back.
"Yup!" Jessica said proudly as she held up the paper.
"Nice!"
We got our plates of pizza before sitting back on the couch. I saw Brennan walk over to the kitchen and grab some food before sitting down with us.
"Are you guys planning on moving after you get married or after you finish school?" Chris asked.
"I'm not sure. For anything, I'm happy on either living in California or New York," I tell her.
"If Amara wants to live in New York, then we'll stay. If she wants to live in California, we'll move back over there. I'll just work from there. It's what Amara wants," Brennan explained.
"Aw that's sweet."
"I know! They're so adorable together," Chris cooed.
It was already one in the morning when the girls went to bed. I lied on my shared bed with Brennan who held me in his arms.
"Brennan," I yawned.
"Yes?"
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For being there for me when I needed you the most," I quietly said before closing my eyes.
"Anything for you," Brennan said before kissing my head.
