Amara's P.O.V

Every senior class at my high school gets to have a beach day. The day was chaperoned by some teachers as well as some parents to assure that we weren't doing anything illegal. The whole senior class stays at the beach and have a bonfire during a school day.

"So you're going to be gone all day?" Brennan asked me as he helped put some bags into the Jeep. Brennan has a few cars in his garage and was nice enough to let me borrow the Jeep.

"Yup," I nodded.

"Just be careful. The paparazzi know who you are now and I told the police to make sure that no unwanted pictures are taken," Brennan tells me.

"How did you tell the police that there shouldn't be any paparazzi at the beach?" I asked him.

"I made a generous donation to the station," Brennan tells me.

"Look, I'll be fine. Besides, I have Chris and Travis with me," I tell him as I leaned against the car.

"Are you picking up the two?" Brennan asked me.

"Just Chris," I say. Brennan nodded before closing the door.

"You know, you can stop by if you want. They can use some more chaperones."

"Thank you for the offer but I can't. I have some business to finish up before we leave for New York," Brennan tells me.

"Well the offer still stands," I shrugged.

"Have fun and be safe," Brennan tells me.

"I will," I smiled as I got inside the car.

I put on my beach playlist I created before driving over to Chris's place. I parked my car on her driveway before texting her that I was here. I waited patiently until she finally came out with her beach bag and backpack purse.

"Hey! You excited for beach day?" I asked her.

"I've been ready since I first heard about it," She told me. I started up the car before backing up and driving away.

"Brennan has a nice Jeep," Chris said admiring it.

"I know right," I said.

"I'm surprise he's not a chaperone for this," She told me.

"He has work to do," I explained to her.

"Still. He did come with us when we went dress shopping," Chris said.

"Well this time was a little different. He said he needed to get things set up before we head out to New York," I told her.

By the time we got to the beach, I saw almost everyone there. Chris and I grabbed our stuff before heading over. We put our things at a good spot before we started to set up our umbrella and beach blanket.

"Hey, Amara. Hey, Chris," I looked up to see Travis coming over.

"Hey babe. Did you just get here?" I asked. I quickly gave him a kiss on the lips.

"Yeah. The boys took forever," Travis tells me.

"Well the main thing is that you're here now," I tell him.

"Let me help you girls," Brennan told us before setting up the umbrella for us.

"Thank you," I said before giving him a kiss on the cheek.

After got set up, I lied on my beach towel, getting a tan while Chris played some music on her guitar. I saw Travis and a few other guys playing some football while some other people were getting the food ready.

"Hey, Amara. Wanna go swimming?" Chris asked me.

"Yeah," I smiled. We got up before heading over to the cold water.

"Hey, Amara! Chris!" One of our classmates came over to us. Her name was Daphne.

"Hey, Daphne," I smiled.

"You girls wanna help us start a water fight?" She asked.

"I'm so down!" Chris said.

"Where are the balloons?" I asked.

"Over here. Come on," She showed us the water balloons and water guns were.

"The others are putting buckets of water around for the water guns," She told us.

"This is going to be so funny," I said.

"Yeah. And it'll be even more funnier when Travis dunks you into the water to get you back," Chris laughed.

The day felt like a good blur. Chris was right about Travis dunking me into the water after the water fight. We started to end the day with a bonfire which was amazing. Chris played some tunes that everyone knew on a guitar that she borrowed from someone.

"Hey, Amara. Can you get me a water?" Chris asked me.

"Anything for you wifey," I joked.

I walked over to the cooler and took out a water bottle for Chris. I looked up to see Travis and some other girl heading off to the pier. I stared in confusion as I followed them.

I kept my distance but saw them go under the pier. I saw the girl wrap her arms around Travis's neck. I watched as they leaned in and started to kiss.

Everything felt frozen. In the inside, I was screaming and crying. On the outside however, I was just too shock to comprehend what was going on.

"Amara?" I heard. I snapped out of my thoughts to see Chris walking over to me. She looked at me before looking at the scene going on.

"Oh fuck," She said in shock.
