Brennan's P.O.V

I woke up to see that I was in a bedroom. I sat up slowly before looking around. I heard the door open causing me to look over. I saw my mom walk inside the room.

"Oh thank god you're awake," She said.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You fainted honey," Mom told me.

"I fainted?" I asked her.

"Yes. How are you feeling?" Mom asked me.

"Confused," I tell her honestly.

There was a knock on the door. I looked up to see a handsome guy standing there. Everything that happened before suddenly came back to me. I am in an arranged marriage to Brennan Kindell. One of the biggest billionaires in the world.

"I wanted to check up on Amara," He said. My mother looked at me.

"Well, how are you feeling?" She asked me.

"Fine, thanks," I tell them.

"I brought some water if you want it," Brennan said, handing me the water bottle.

"Thanks again," I tell him before taking the water bottle. I opened the cap before taking a sip of it.

"We can go home if you like," My mother tells me.

"Yes please," I nodded.

"I'll go get your father to get the car ready," My mother tells me. She got up and walked away, leaving me and Brennan alone.

"The news must've been a little too shocking," Brennan said.

"I think I hit my head too hard," I said as I lightly rubbed my temples.

"You didn't hit your head," Brennan said.

"I didn't?" I asked.

"No. I caught you before you could even hit the floor," Brennan tells me.

"Thanks," I said.

"Couldn't let you get hurt," Brennan said. There was a small pause between us afterwards.

"How did you know?" I asked referring to the news.

"My mother is quite the gossip. My assistant told me that she overheard my mother talking about setting up this dinner so I can meet you, my future wife," Brennan tells me.

"This is insane. You're much older than me," I tell him as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"I'm five years older than you, Amara," Brennan tells me.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes."

"This is still crazy. I can't marry you," I tell him as I got out of bed.

"Why not?" Brennan asked. I stared at him with a look. Did he really ask me that?

"For starters, we don't know each other. Secondly, I have a boyfriend," I tell him.

"You have a boyfriend?" Brennan asked me.

"What?!" I jumped in surprise. I turned to see Mr. Kindell standing there.

"What's going on?" Mrs. Kindell asked as she walked over.

"Amara has a boyfriend," Mr. Kindell tells her.

"I beg your pardon?" She asked in shock.

"Amara, are you ready?" My mother asked walking over to me.

"Sandra. Did you know your daughter had a boyfriend?" Mrs. Kindell asked my mother. I could hear in her voice that she was in shock and not happy on what I had said. Here comes the trouble.

"Amara, is this true?" My mother asked. I sighed and nodded.

"Yes."

"Your father and I told you that you are not allowed to date in high school!" She said. Brennan took a step forward. He placed his hand in my shoulder.

"Why don't we talk about this later? I'm sure Amara needs the rest after fainting moments ago," Brennan tells our parents. I was grateful he was saving my ass at the moment.

"Oh fine," Mrs. Kindell said. My mother grabbed my arm before pulling me with her down the hall.

"How can you be in a relationship with someone?" My mom asked.

"Because I can. It's my life, mother. You don't need to control it all the time," I tell her.

"I gave birth to you."

"Yes you did but I am eighteen now. And according to law, I am my own person," I tell her.

"We will discuss more at home," My mother said before bringing me over to the car where my father was waiting for us.

"Are you okay?" Dad asked.

"Well you guys just confirmed that I'm getting engaged to a complete stranger, and I just fainted," I tell him.

"Amara-"

"Can we please go home?" I asked him.

"Yes."

When we got back home, I could feel myself wanting to throw up. I ran upstairs to the bathroom quickly before lifting the cover up. All of the food that I ate tonight was now in the toilet.

"Amara?" I looked up to see my mom standing by the door. My head was pounding and I felt weak.

"It's nothing," I tell her.

"Go brush your teeth and get to bed. I'll check up on you," She tells me before leaving. I flushed the toilet before getting up.

I changed into some pajamas and brushed my teeth. I felt really tired now. I went to my room and buried myself into the blankets and pillows.

"Amara?" I peaked my head out to see my mother walk in.

"How are you feeling?" She asked me.

"I feel tired," I tell her.

"Brennan called. Wanted to see if you're still feeling sick," Mom told me. It was nice of him to check up on me but it felt weird that he did since I had a boyfriend and we had just found out that we were in an arranged marriage.

"I'm fine after a good night's rest," I tell him.

"Alright. Well, I can bring you some water and some Tylenol if you want," Mom tells me.

"Yes please," I nodded. My mom walked away for a bit to grab the water and medicine. I just sat there, staring at my wall before my mom came back. She handed me the water first then the Tylenol.

"Thank you," I said before swallowing the medicine with the water. I put the glass on my stand.

"I'm sorry that we dropped the news bomb so quickly," Mom told me.

"Do I have to get married to him?" I asked.

"Yes. It's been set up already," Mom told me. That made me feel even more upset.

"Okay," I said with a shaky breath.

"Get some rest now," My mother said before kissing the top of my head.

"Goodnight," My mom said to me.

"Goodnight," I said.

She turned off the lights and closed the door. I lied in my room feeling overwhelmed about the news. I could feel tears fall as I thought back on what happened. I closed myself and let myself cry myself to sleep.
