Amara's P.O.V

Dress shopping had always been my favorite thing to do. I always felt like a princess and prom was my excuse to dress up again. Chris and I were going dress shopping together at the L.A. fashion district to find some dresses.

I walked over before knocking on Brennan's door.

"Come in," I heard. I opened the door and peaked my head in.

"I'm going dress shopping with Chris," I tell him.

"Dress shopping?" Brennan asked.

"For prom," I tell him.

"Is Travis going to be with you both?" Brennan asked me. To my surprise, I didn't hear Brennan say Travis's name with hatred.

"No. He wanted to be surprised with my choice of dress," I tell him.

"Someone should go with you both. Keep an eye on you two so you both don't get hurt," Brennan tells me.

"We don't need a babysitter," I said, now walking into the room.

"L.A. isn't a safe place you know," Brennan tells me.

"We'll be fine," I assured him.

"Let me go with you. I'll even pay for yours and Chris's dresses," Brennan said.

"You don't have to do that," I tell Brennan. As tempting as the offer was, it felt wrong for him to buy our dresses.

"How about lunch?" Brennan offered.

"Alright," I said, giving up.

"Where does Chris live?" Brennan asked.

"I'll drive to her place and you can drive us to L.A," I tell him.

"Sounds good to me. Do you want to take my car?" Brennan asked.

"I can drive your car?" I asked him.

"If you want," Brennan smiled.

"Okay," I said excitedly.

"Let me just get dressed. I don't want to be recognized," Brennan told me.

"Okay," I nodded. As I waited for him to get dressed, I sat in the living room downstairs watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"They're actually nice but a little too snobby for my taste," I heard. I looked over to see Brennan dressed in casual wear. He had sunglasses and a Yankee's baseball cap on to help mask his identity.

"You look super casual," I said.

"Yeah. I have a section of casual clothes to throw the paparazzi off," Brennan told me. I looked at his outfit more closely. He wore jeans, a pair of Nike shoes, and a plain black shirt. I had to admit, black did look good on him.

We got into Brennan's car before heading off to Chris's house. As soon as I rolled up to her house, I parked the car by the sidewalk in front of her house.

"I will be right back. Stay in here," I tell him.

"Alright. Let me get to the driver's seat first," Brennan said. Brennan moved to the driver's side as soon as I got out.

I walked over to the front door and knocked. Chris's father answered the door.

"Hey, Amara! Come in," He smiled.

"Hey, Mr. Grove. How are you?" I asked as I walked inside the house.

"Fine. I noticed on the news that you've been hanging out with Brennan Kindell," He said. Mr. Grove was much into the business corporation news. It was funny since he was a surgeon.
