Amara's P.O.V

Prom was tomorrow and I had no date. Even Chris who said she was okay on going stag got a date. I was suppose to go with Travis but now I'm going alone. I sat on the couch watching the old 90's movie, She's All That.

"Why so glum, Amara?" Beatrice asked me as she walked over.

"I'm just a little bummed out that I don't have a date to my prom," I tell her.

"Why not?" She asked.

"My boyfriend and I broke up," I tell her.

"Aw. Well do you have a dress at least?" She asked me.

"Yeah. I just wanted to go to prom this year with someone really special," I told her.

"How special?" Beatrice asked me.

"Really special. It's my last year and I want to have fun. You know?" I asked her.

"Yeah I get you. I remember having dates to dances. It was fun. Don't be too upset though. Someone will come around," Beatrice winked. I smiled softly before she stood up.

"You know, we are going to be sisters in law soon. What do you say to a little outing? Just the two of us," She said.

"Okay," I smiled.

"Since your prom is tomorrow, let's get a manicure and pedicure," Beatrice said.

"Sounds good to me," I nodded.

"I'll pay. Don't worry," Beatrice winked at me. I smiled at her before getting up to change

As we were getting out nails done, Beatrice and I were getting to know each other. We had a lot in common than I anticipated.

"So are you guys almost done with the wedding planning?" Beatrice asked me.

"Yeah. We have the venue which is at the Huntington Library," I tell her.

"The museum?" She asked.

"Yes."

"That place is beautiful. That's nice."

Beatrice's phone rung making her answer it. Luckily we were doing our toes last.

"Hello? Yeah we're almost done... With your card? Alright... No problem. We'll be home at 4... Alright. Love you too," Beatrice said before hanging up.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"Brennan. But don't worry about him. After this, why don't we go shopping with his card? Get new clothes for New York?" Beatrice asked me.

"Will he mind us using his card?" I asked her.

"He's a billionaire. He won't care until a president decides to tax the rich," Beatrice tells me.

We headed over to the mall where we went to many different shops. Before we could even leave the mall, Beatrice made me dress up into this really nice outfit.

"Beatrice, what is all this for?" I questioned her.

"It's a surprise. Come on," Beatrice said before holding my arm and taking me back to the car.

Beatrice drove back to the house where I looked at her in confusion. I saw her pull out a blindfold from her purse.

"Okay, you really need to tell me what's going on," I said.

"Do you trust me?" Beatrice asked.

"Yes?" I said unsure.

"Put the blindfold on then," Beatrice said. I put it on without another word.

Beatrice helped me out of the car and into the house. It felt like we were walking to the backyard.

"Okay, seriously. For the last time, what is going on?" I asked, getting a little impatient.

"Okay. Just sit here," Beatrice said as she made me sit on the outside couch.

I sat there waiting for further instructions. I started to get nervous. I played a little with my hands.

"You can take off your blindfold now," I heard Brennan say. I took off the blindfold to see Brennan standing in front of me with a small bouquet of flowers. The fire pit was lit up as well as the fairy lights around the backyard.

"I know that you wanted to go with your ex-boyfriend to your prom but can I at least take you and make it just as magical?" Brennan asked me nervously. I smiled happily before standing up.

"Of course," I said before hugging him. Brennan seemed to be a little surprise at the sudden hug. He hugged me back before giving me the flowers.

"I hope you like the flowers," Brennan said.

"I love them. I hope you convinced my school to let you go," I tell him.

"They said it was alright. As long as I don't bring in drugs or alcohol," Brennan said.

"How much did you donate to them?" I questioned. I knew my school was strict on how old people from outside of school were allowed to come to our dances.

"A good amount," Brennan smiled. I giggled a little before kissing his cheek.

"I can't wait for the dance," I tell him.

"Me neither," Brenna tells me.

"Did you ever go to your prom?" I asked.

"I did but it didn't end so well," Brennan tells me.

"Well think of this one as a redo," I tell him.

"I will," Brennan smiled at me.
