Amara's P.O.V
After our shopping spree, Chris and I went back to her house. However, I saw her mom waiting for us.
"Chris, I need to talk to Amara," Mrs. Grove said.
"Did she do something wrong mom?" Chris asked.
"No. No. Amara, your parents called," Mrs. Grove told me.
"They did?" I asked.
"Yes. Chris, can I talk to Amara alone please?" Mrs. Grove asked.
"Uh sure. I'll put our stuff in my room," Chris said.
Mrs. Grove and I went to the dining room to sit and talk. I sat across from her to listen to what my parents told her.
"Well, your parents said they want you to live with them because of the situation. They promised they won't be as harsh as they were last time," Mrs. Grove said.
"Okay."
"You're more than welcome to stay one more night. But I do have to tell your parents if you are though," Mrs. Grove said.
"Is it okay if I stay one more night? Just to let Chris know," I tell her.
"Of course."
I went back up to Chris's room to let her know what was going on. I told her what her mom told me.
"What are you going to do once you move back in with your parents?" Chris asked me.
"Well, I need to find out if I can break off the marriage. Then I was thinking of just taking a break from guys for a while," I tell her.
"Good for you."
"Well, it's one last day of our sleepover. What do you want to do?" I asked her.
"We can go to the Santa Monica Pier and do what we talked about?"Chris said.
"No. We're not doing that," I shook my head.
"Come on. You know you want to," Chris told me. She gave me a smirk and a nudge.
"No. We are not doing that, Chris," I shook my head.
"Oh fine. Well, we can quickly finish up our show we've been binge watching."
"You're the boss," Chris chuckled.
The next day, my parents picked me up and took me back to their house. However, they wanted to talk to me about the situation. I sat across from them in the dining room table. My mom and dad looked... ashamed.
"So we have talked to the Kindells and we agreed that it will be alright to end the marriage agreement with no consequences. Since Brennan is to have a baby soon with that woman, Mrs. Kindell thinks it would be a good idea for Brennan to be with that woman who is having his child," my mother told me.
"Okay," I nodded.
"Is there something else you'd like to say to her honey?" My dad asked my mom.
"And I want to apologize for forcing the marriage on you. Since you are no longer engaged to Brennan, you can date other men and we will support you no matter what," my mom tells me.
"Thank you," I tell them.
"We picked up your things from Brennan's house. You may redecorate your room as you want," my dad said.
"I think I'll keep it simple. After all, I'm going to New York in the fall," I remind them.
"Are you hungry?"
"I'm good. I think I'm going to stay in my room for now," I tell my parents.
"Okay. Just let us know when you get hungry."
I walked up to my room upstairs. I looked around to see all of my boxes stacked on top of each other and spread out around. However, my bed was made. Most likely my mom had made it for me before I came back home. I lied down on it before closing my eyes to rest up.
