Amara's P.O.V

I had a dinner dress that wasn't too fancy nor too casual for tonight. I still felt like I was cheating on Travis by being with Brennan. According to Brennan, he had made reservations for us at some restaurant.

"You look beautiful," Brennan tells me. I turned to look at him. Brennan had a suit on which made him look nice as well.

"You look handsome," I complimented. Brennan smiled at me.

"Thank you."

"Look, this dinner is going to be platonic, alright?" I cleared up.

"Alright," Brennan agreed with a small nod.

Brennan drove to a restaurant that looked expensive and rich. It felt like I was sucked into the richer side of the economy. When I noticed that most of everyone's attire was much more fancier than mine's, I started to get insecure.

"Oh great," Brennan said.

"What?" I asked.

"Paparazzi," Brennan said. I mentally made a note that if Travis asked, it's just business.

"I don't think I'm ready for that," I tell him.

"It's okay. I'll make sure they don't touch you," Brennan tells me.

"Promise?" I asked.

"I promise."

Brennan got out of the car first before going over to my side. He helped me out before we started to head over to the restaurant doors. The flashing lights from the cameras almost blinded me.

"Brennan! Who is this?"

"Are you two dating?"

"No we are not," Brennan said before we got inside the restaurant.

"That was hectic," I said as my vision started to come back.

"Yeah it was," Brennan said before we walked over to the hostess.

"I have reservations under Kindell," Brennan tells her.

"Right this way," She said before grabbing two menus and walking over.

We followed her over to the table where it was located a little away from everyone. Brennan pulled out the chair for me. I smiled kindly at him before sitting down. He pushed me in before taking a seat in front of me.

"Your waiter will come shortly," The hostess said.

"Thank you," I say politely.

I looked down at the menu. Everything looked expensive. I looked back up at Brennan who was looking down at the menu.

"What made you choose this restaurant?" I asked him.

"It's nice and it has good food. Also, I thought I'd take my future wife to a nice restaurant to get to know her better," Brennan said.

"Do you even want to get married?" I asked him.

"Why not?"

"Well for instance, we don't like each other like how other married couples love each other," I point out. Brennan nodded.

"Fair point," Brennan tells me.

"Look, you're a nice guy, Brennan. But I have a boyfriend who I love," I tell him.

"Does he make you happy?" Brennan tells me.

"He makes me very happy," I tell him.

"Look, I looked into the marriage and we both can't get out of it without affecting us," Brennan tells me.

"How did you look into the marriage?" I asked him.

"My father had it written in paper. I told him to fax it to me and when I looked into it, we both will be screwed," Brennan explains.

"How so?" I asked.

"Everything we owned or was given to us by our families will be taken away. No wonder my father gave me his company," Brennan scoffed. I started to think back about how my parents bought me everything.

"Oh my god," I said.

"Yeah. Look, think back about your dream wedding. I'll get you everything you ever wanted," Brennan tells me.

"What about you? This is also your wedding as well," I tell him.

"My perfect wedding was as long as my fiancee has everything she wants and is happy," Brennan tells me. I smiled softly at him. I saw out waiter walk over to us.

"Hi, my name is Sam and I will be your waiter for the evening. Can I start with you both with drinks?" Our waiter asked.

"Can I just get some water?" I asked.

"Same here," Brennan tells him.

"Got it," Sam said.

"I'm ready to order. How about you, Brennan?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"Alright. What can I get you two?"

After ordering our food, I looked around at the restaurant. Some people were looking at us. Mainly Brennan.

"What are you planning to major in when you get to NYU?" Brennan asked me.

"I'm not sure yet," I tell him.

"Well no matter what you choose, I will be gladly there to support you," Brennan tells me. I smiled softly at him. Brennan wasn't that bad of a guy.

"What about you? Did you want to be a CEO for your dad's company?" I asked him.

"I wasn't sure on what I wanted to be. When my dad told me to go into business so I could run his company, I just went along with it," Brennan tells me.

"Oh. Do you like it?" I asked him.

"Yeah. It's fine to be honest," Brennan tells me.

"Why are you moving to New York? I remember your parents said that during the dinner party," I say.

"Opening a new branch there," Brennan tells me.

"Oh. That must be fun," I tell him.

"It's alright."

"I have to dorm over there at NYU," I tell him.

"What if you don't have to," Brennan tells me.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I can pull some arrangements and we can live in a penthouse by your school and my work," Brennan tells me.

"Well it is better than being stuck in a small dorm room,"I tell him.

"It would suck. I remember when I had to dorm. It was pure hell until I was allowed to move into an apartment," Brennan tells me.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yup. Now I took you here to get to know you more. Tell me about yourself," Brennan said.

"What do you even want to know?" I asked.

"Anything," Brennan shrugged.

"I like reading, I love to go traveling and exploring new places, and I love art and museums," I tell him.

"Really?" Brennan asked impressed.

"Yeah. What about you?" I asked.

"Well if I'm not doing my work, I actually enjoy reading and going to museums as well," Brennan said.

"You like museums as well?" I asked.

"I enjoy art and the historical things in it. Plus I enjoy the silence," Brennan said.

"Maybe one day we can go to a museum sometime?" I asked him.

"Of course," Brennan smiled at me.

As we enjoyed our dinner together, something in me felt weird. My heart was beating a little faster than usual and I felt like I could talk to Brennan about anything. Something that I never felt through the time of my relationship with Travis.
