Brennan's P.O.V

I waited for Nicole to come back. As I waited, I sat in my living room, sipping one glass of whiskey. The door opened and close, letting me know that Nicole finally came back.

"Why are you drinking whiskey? Are we celebrating something?" Nicole asked me.

"I'm celebrating. I don't think you will be though," I tell her.

"What's going on?" Nicole asked me.

"Are you sure that you're having my baby?" I asked her.

"Of course it's your baby. Why would I lie to you?"

"Well, you should really be more aware of your surroundings if you're going to make a phone call and admit that you're not having my baby," I tell her.

Nicole dropped her act. Her eyes widen a little as she looked at me. I took out my phone before playing the video.

"Where did you get that?" Nicole asked me.

"Anonymous tip," I blankly tell her.

"I can explain."

"I'd love to hear the bullshit excuse you're gonna tell me."

"Brennan, please. I love you?"

"Do you, Nicole? Cause last time I remember, you left me for another man because he had more publicity," I tell her.

"What do you want me to say or do?" Nicole asked me. I got up to walk over to her.

"I want you out of my house and leave me alone," I tell her.

"Fine."

"And you leave Amara alone as well," I tell her.

"Why do you even like her? She's a child!" Nicole told me.

"She's eighteen. A legal adult. And this is funny coming from the woman who left me for a forty year old man," I spat.

"I'll leave," Nicole told me.

"Good."

Once Nicole was done packing, I stood by the front door to watch her leave.

"Don't even think about exposing me. We both know that I have the upper hand on this," I tell her.

"Whatever," Nicole scoffed before walking out with her stuff.

I sighed in relief. I walked to my living room before sitting on the couch. I called up Beatrice to tell her the good news.

"Hello?"

"She's gone," I tell her.

"Who?"

"Nicole. You were right."

"Of course I am. Do you want me to bring over some champagne?"

"No. I knew that you wanted to hear the news," I tell her.

"Well since the wedding was off, I'm heading back to London again soon. Wanna grab some dinner before I head off?" Beatrice asked me.

"Of course. Tomorrow after I get off of work?" I asked her.

"Yeah."

"Great. I'll see you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

Even though I'm more than happy that Nicole left, I still felt alone. I still missed Amara. The house felt empty again making me frown. My phone rang making me look down at it. It was Amara calling me.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey, Brennan. I heard that Nicole left," Amara told me.

"Let me guess, Beatrice told you?" I chuckled after asking her.

"Yeah. She did," Amara laughed a little.

"It felt good to be honest," I told her.

"I bet."

"Look I still want to apologize about everything," I tell her.

"I don't blame you to be honest, Brennan. It wasn't your fault."

"I know but I still hurt you."

"Hey, I gotta go to bed now. I'll talk you to you another time?" Amara asked me.

"Yeah. Goodnight, Amara," I said.

"Goodnight, Brennan."
