Amara's P.O.V

The next day, Beatrice picked me up from my house to take me to Brennan's office. I had told Chris the night before and she was ready to fight Nicole. Though I would have loved to see that, I told her no due to the fact that Nicole was pregnant.

"What if she's there?" I asked Beatrice.

"Doubt it."

"Why's that?"

"Janice is making sure of that. I slipped her a thousand dollars to keep Nicole busy until Brennan talks to her later," Beatrice winked.

"Beatrice. Can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"Why are you being so nice to me even after Brennan and I broke off our engagement?"

"To be Frank with you Amara, I actually like you out all the women my brother has been with. You're down to earth, you don't like him because he has money, and you're a sweet girl," I smiled at Beatrice.

We made it to the building parking lot finally. We both got out of the car before walking over towards Brennan's building. Beatrice quickly checked us in before we got into an elevator to go up to Brennan's floor.

"So what do I technically say to him?" I asked Beatrice.

"Tell him what you heard and the video," Beatrice told me. I nodded at her. The elevator doors finally opened, letting us inside the floor.

"Let me talk to him first," Beatrice said. I nodded before waiting outside of the office.

Brennan's P.O.V

My office door was pushed open, startling me. I looked to see Beatrice walking over to me

"What are you doing here, Beatrice?" I asked her.

"I am going to tell you a good reason why you should not be with Nicole," Beatrice said happily. She sat on the chair in front of me. I was questioning what she was going to do.

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

"Well, little miss I'm-pregnant-so-you-have-to-do-as-I-say, isn't what she seems."

"Beatrice, I have a busy day and I cannot deal with this nonsense right now," I sighed.

"Hear me out. Please," she asked me.

"Beatrice-"

"Nicole is using you for money," Beatrice yelled.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Amara heard Nicole talking over the phone and heard that Nicole was using you for money and fame," Beatrice told me.

"Do you have any proof of this?"

"Yup. Amara!"

I saw Amara walk inside my office. I didn't take my eyes off of her. Amara looked down as she came over to us.

"Hi, Brennan," Amara greeted.

"Hi."

"Amara, show him the video," Beatrice said. Amara took out her phone before handing it to me.

I watched the full thing. I didn't know what to feel. Hurt, angry, and disappointment were some of my feelings at the moment.

"Can you send this to me, Amara? I will take care of it when I meet up with Nicole later at home."

"Of course, Brennan."

"Don't mention this to any media yet. I want to do this privately," I tell the two of them.

"Okay."

"Oh fine," Beatrice said, rolling her eyes at me. I knew Beatrice wanted to embarrass Nicole but I knew that the stress would hurt the baby. Even if it wasn't mine, I didn't want to hurt him or her.

"Beatrice, may I talk to Amara alone for a moment?" I asked my sister.

"Fine. I'll be outside of the office," Beatrice told Amara before leaving.

"What did you want to talk about?" Amara asked as soon as Beatrice shut the door.

"About us."

"What about us?"

"I want to start over with you, Amara. If you give me the chance," I asked her.

"I don't know Brennan," Amara told me.

"Can I ask why?"

"After Travis and then this whole thing with Nicole, I don't know if I want to be in a relationship. I think I just need to be by myself for a while before I decide when I want to be with someone," Amara explained.

"I understand," I looked down in disappointment.

I heard Amara walk up to me. I glanced up to look at her. Amara kissed my cheek softly. She had a gentle smile when she pulled away.

"We can talk more after you talk to Nicole," Amara told me. I nodded before engulfing her into a hug. Amara hugged me back before walking out to leave.

Author's Note: As many people know, America is protesting against the police brutality and racism. As a person of color (I am Filipino), I want to spread the awareness as much as I can. Please remember that the rioters and looters are fake protesters who are using the protesting as a way to vandalize and loot things. Please also note that there some (not all but some from a few videos I have seen) good police officers who know that the protests are to be peaceful. I also want to say to my readers who are going to protest or are protesting to please be safe. Black Lives Matter and we need to help support and fight for what is right.
