Amara's P.O.V
It was no shock that I had to tell Chris. However, the moment I told her, she didn't believe me. After explaining to her about Brennan and I being together but in our own terms, Chris finally accepted it. Once I told Chris, I told Jessica.
"How are your parents taking the news?" Jessica asked me.
"You and Chris are the only ones who know about Brennan and I being back together," I tell her.
"Just as long as you tell them," Jessica told me.
I nodded at her before grabbing my stuff to go to take a shower. Once I finished, I pulled up my laptop to FaceTime my parents. I sat on my bed and put on my airpods in my ears. I clicked on my mom's contact name and waited for her to answer.
"Hello, Amara," my mom greeted.
"Hi, mom."
"How are you?" She asked me.
"Great. How are you and dad?" I asked her.
"Oh good. Your father took me out on a dinner date two nights ago."
"That's good."
"Is everything okay, sweetie? Is anything wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong mom. Can't I just call and say hi?" I asked her.
"You can but I just have that motherly instinct. You'll get it too when you have kids."
"Okay. Well, I was wondering if you and dad would like to come here on a weekend," I asked.
"Of course. We'd be delighted to go!"
"Cool. When are you two available?" I asked.
"Let me check with dad and I'll get back to you on it," my mom said.
"No worries. Just let me know when you can," I tell her.
"Okay. Well it looks late over there. I should let you get your sleep."
"Alright. Goodnight mom."
"Goodnight sweetie."
I hung up on her before putting my laptop away. I saw Jessica walk back inside our room. Her hair was wet as she had just came back from the showers.
"How did it go?" Jessica asked.
"Fine."
"Are you okay?" Jessica asked me as she sat on her bed.
"Yeah. It's just a lot to deal with right now. You know with school, this new relationship, and everything," I tell her.
"It's okay. You know that Chris and I are here for you right?" Jessica reminded me.
"Yeah. And I really appreciate you two being there for me," I smiled at her.
"Now, let's get some sleep. I heard that the dining hall is serving waffles tomorrow," Jessica told me.
"Alright. I'll wake you up early so we can get there on time," I tell her.
"Thank you," Jessica smiled. She jumped off her bed before engulfing me in a big hug.
