Amara's P.O.V

Prom was today and I was so happy. Chris came over to the house to get ready. The prom was at a Disney hotel which was exciting. Chris had helped me with my hair while I helped her with makeup.

"It's cool how your new backyard has a really nice setting for the pictures," Chris said.

"I know right," I smiled.

"Are your parents coming over to take pictures of you and Brennan?" Chris asked me.

"Yeah. He told them that we were going to prom together and how Trevor and I broke up," I told her.

"They must've been so happy," Chris told me.

"Believe me, they were," I sighed.

"Hey look. We're going to have a great time tonight," Chris said.

"I know," I smiled.

"I'm going to put on my dress. Be right back," She said. Chris got up before walking out to the bathroom. I got dressed into my prom dress before taking out my maid of honor proposal box. I sat on my bed as I put on my heels.

"Are you ready to party?" Chris asked as she posed in her dress. Chris got a black dress that was simple and spaghetti strapped. Her dress had a slit that went up to her thigh.

"You look amazing," I smiled.

"Thank you," She smiled.

"I got something for you," I told her.

"What do you mean?" Chris asked as she sat by me on the bed.

"Here," I said before handing her the box. She gave me a questioned look before opening the box.

"Oh my god," She said. I smiled at her reaction. Chris looked up at me in happiness.

"Of course I'll be your maid of honor," She said before hugging me tightly.

"Really?" I asked.

"Of course. You've been my best friend since forever," Chris said. I smiled before giving her another hug.

"I'm so glad you said yes," I told her.

"I'm going to throw you the best bridal shower you'll ever have," Chris told me.

"I think my mom will beat you to it," I giggled.

"Then I will talk to her about it. Either way, I'm just glad to be part of your wedding and I know one day, you'll be part of mine," Chris smiled.

"Hey girls. Are you ready? The gentlemen downstairs are ready and so are your parents," Beatrice tells us.

"We'll be down in a bit," I tell her.

"I think you're missing something though," Chris tells me.

"What am I missing?" I asked her. Chris got up before walking over to my jewelry. She picked up a ring before giving it to me.

"You have the necklace and the bracelet but not the ring," Chris tells me.

"Thanks Chris," I smiled.

"Now, let's go and have the best night of our high school lives," Chris said.

"We're ready!" I called out.

Chris and I walked over to the stairs to see Brennan talking to my parents and Chris's date talking to her parents. The boys looked up at us with a surprised and awe look.

"Wow," Brennan said. Chris and I walked down as our dates walked up over to us.

"You look beautiful," Brennan tells me.

"Thank you, Brennan," I say. I could feel my cheeks heat up a little.

"Chris, you look great," Weston said.

"Thanks, West," Chris said.

"Look at you girls. It felt like yesterday you two were just kids playing dress up and now you both are going to prom," Chris's mom said.

"Mom," Chris said, chuckling a little.

"I'm sorry. You two are just so grown up," She tells us.

"Well, why don't we do the pictures already. Don't want them to be late for their dinner reservation," My mom said.

"She's right. The backyard is all set for the pictures," Beatrice said.

After the pictures, some of our other friends met up with us at the house to go to the restaurant. It was a place where we all knew and liked.

"Hey, Amara," I looked up to Chris's and mine's friend, Kelsey, who was smiling at me.

"Did you hear that Travis is going solo tonight?" Kelsey asked me.

"No. I didn't," I tell her.

"Well heads up on that. I heard he's gonna ask you to dance with him for the slow song," Kelsey tells me.

"Well too bad I will be dancing with my date tonight. I'm not going to leave Brennan for Travis," I tell her.

"Good for you girl. Hey, so I was thinking that we could go inside Disneyland to watch the fireworks," Kelsey told everyone.

"Kels, we don't have passes," Chris said. I knew Chris wanted to get passes to Disneyland. Her parents offered but Chris said she wanted to earn the money.

"We can watch it from that courtyard," Kelsey said.

"I'm up for it," I tell them.

"Actually, we can go inside the park," Brennan tells me.

"Just us two?" I asked.

"Well I talked to Rebecca Campbell, the president of Disneyland, and she agreed to let us in to watch the fireworks for a reasonable amount of money," Brennan explained.

"Wait what?" Chris questioned.

"Well I was going to surprise you all later but since Kelsey thought of the idea, might as well tell you now," Brennan said.

"Amara, if you don't date this guy, I will," Kelsey tells me. I chuckled a little before looking at Brennan.

"I can't believe you bought us tickets to see the fireworks," I tell him

"It's for a little surprise later," Brennan tells me.

"A surprise?" I questioned.

"Yeah. Do you trust me?" Brennan asked me.

"Of course I do," I tell him.

"Then wait till tonight," Brennan tells me.

"Fine," I said before leaning against him.
