Amara's P.O.V
I looked at Brennan and at the girl in shock and in confusion. Was she really pregnant with his kid? If so then I couldn't be interfered with all this.
"Brennan, what's going on?" I asked him. I was hoping to hear her out of context.
"Who's this?" The woman asked confused as she looked at me.
"Amara, I need to talk to her alone for a moment. Can you just entertain the guests in the meantime?" Brennan asked me. I could see panic in his eyes.
"Brennan, if we're going to be married, I need to know who this is," I tell him.
"Wait, you're engaged to a child?" I heard. I glared over at the pregnant woman.
"I'm eighteen," I tell her.
"Sure," She scoffed. I scrunched my eyebrows a little.
"Amara, I promise I will explain everything later. Just please go inside," Brennan told me.
"There's not much to explain, Brennan. I'm pregnant and it's your baby," The woman said. I looked at her before looking up at Brennan.
"Is this true?" I asked. I felt my heart break from this. I hoped to God that this wasn't true.
"I don't know," Brennan sighed. I shook my head before rushing inside.
"Amara? You okay?" I heard my mom ask.
"Amara?" I heard again.
Everything felt like it was closing in on me. I couldn't breathe making me cry. I looked around in a panic as everything was talking to me at once. I felt someone grab my hand before leading me outside. I looked to see Chris and Weston.
"Amara, breathe. Weston, go get me a bottle of water," Chris said. I felt myself cry, making Chris comfort me. Weston came back with the water before giving it to me.
"Let's get out of here," Chris said.
We got inside her car before we drove off. I sat in the back alone as we looked at the view of the city. I told them what happened at the party.
"How does she know for sure that it's Brennan's?" Chris asked me.
"I don't know," I said. I heard a phone ring making Chris answer it.
"Hello? Yes mom. I have Amara... Something happened and she needed to get out of the party... Um, mom... Can Amara stay over at our place for a bit? Thanks," Chris said before hanging up.
"Chris-"
"No. You are my best friend Amara and there's no way in hell that I'm going to let you stay at your parents' house or at Brennan's," Chris told me.
"Thanks, Chris. But I need some clothes," I tell her.
"You left clothes at my place remember?" Chris reminded me.
"Right."
"I will drop you off home Weston and I will text you updates," Chris said.
Once Chris dropped off Weston, we went back to her house. I lied down on Chris's spare bed, staring up in the ceiling.
"How are you feeling?"
"Really heartbroken."
"Well, I'm here for you," Chris said before holding my hand. I looked over at her and smiled.
"This gets better right?" I asked her.
"Yeah. It does."
