Amara's P.O.V

Going to school in my car was weird. I missed Chris ranting about some political issue or how we have to go to school so early. At least the quiet helped me think about my situation though.

I parked my car before meeting Chris up at the bleachers. She gave me a rejected pastry from her mother's bakery as I sat next to her. Chris's mom always have her and me (whenever I come visit Chris's house) the non-appealing pastries.

"How was going to school without me?" Chris asked me.

"Boring," I admitted.

"Same for me."

"I'm highly considering the running away to Canada thing," I tell her.

"I'm down," Chris said.

"I wish I didn't have to have a stupid arranged marriage," I whined.

"Do you sleep in the same room as your fiancé?" Chris asked me.

"No. I feel like I'm cheating on Travis in a way," I tell her.

"I see."

"What am I going to do?" I asked her.

"Do what your heart tells you," Chris tells me.

"Good morning ladies," Travis said, walking up.

"Hi," I smiled. Travis say next to me before giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"Oh that reminds me. Here are tickets to my next show," Chris said before handing me the two tickets.

"Cool. Thanks," I smiled.

"Let me guess, you'll just come over to my place and we're going to head off to the show together?" Travis asked me. This happened every show. Since I didn't want Travis coming over and make my parents suspicious that I was dating someone, I would normally go over to his place and carpool with him.

Now that I am in an arranged marriage with Brennan, I had to be extra careful. I couldn't risk Travis knowing about what was going on with me. God I felt like a terrible girlfriend.

"Yes," I said.

"Okay."

"I'll buy dinner," I tell him.

"Okay," Travis tells me before giving me a kiss on the cheek.

After school, I went back to the mansion. I walked inside to hear the place completely silent.

"Brennan?" I called out.

"In my office," I heard him call back out.

I walked over to his office where he was working. I leaned against the door as I looked over at what he was doing. Brennan's tie was a little loose while his hair was a little messy.

"I'm home from school," I tell him.

"I can see that," Brennan said, glancing up to look at me.

"I have plans for Saturday by the way," I tell him.

"Where are you going?" Brennan asked me.

"My friend has a concert coming up and I promised I'd go," I tell him.

"Alright," Brennan tells me. I looked around at his home office.

It had bookcases filled with binders and some books. There were cabinet files near him for a quick easy access.

"Shouldn't you be studying for your finals?" Brennan asked me.

"I just took my last one today," I tell him.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah."

"We should celebrate," Brennan tells me.

"Celebrate?" I asked.

"I remember finals being stressful as hell for me. And I know your parents told me that you've been studying non stop so let me take you out to dinner," Brennan tells me.

"I guess a little dinner wouldn't hurt," I tell him.

"Great. We'll have dinner at six," Brennan said with a smile.

"Can't wait," I tell him.
