Amara's P.O.V
I wished school would last longer. Call me crazy all you want but when you're in my shoes, you wished the week would drag out. Today was the day where I would be moving in with my soon-to-be-husband.
Most of my things were ready to be sent out to his house which was a little far from where I lived. That was a shock to me. I thought he had lived somewhere closer to the city. Somewhere closer to his work.
You see, I lived a good thirty minutes away from both Calabasas and L.A. So in the middle of the two. I told Chris that she couldn't pick me up anymore which she was upset about. I was more upset than she was.
"Amara, are you ready?" My mother asked me. I turned to look at her.
"I guess," I tell her with a shrug.
"I know you're upset-"
"Upset? You just arranged a marriage for me with someone I don't know. Upset wouldn't be the word on how I'm feeling right now," I say before walking downstairs.
I saw Brennan standing by the front door with my father. The two were talking. Brennan looked over as he saw me standing on the stairs. My dad looked over to see me.
"Amara, are you ready to go?" My dad asked me.
"Yeah," I say quietly. I walked over to the front door. My dad leaned in for a hug but instead I turned around and walked off.
"Amara, wait!" I turned to see Brennan rushing over towards me.
"Can we just leave already?" I asked him.
"Yeah. Of course," Brennan tells me before getting his keys out. I followed him to his car. Brennan opened the passenger door for me. I gave him a small, polite smile before getting inside.
Brennan shut the door behind me before rushing over to the driver's side. He got in and turned on the car.
The car ride to his place was quiet. The two of us didn't talk. The only thing that made the car ride less dreadful was the radio. I stared out the window as Brennan drove.
When we got to the gates, I looked over at him as he told the security who he was. The gates opened shortly and Brennan drove up to his house.
His house, or mansion to be more exact, was huge. When I got out of his car, all I could do was just stare at the beauty of it. It was white and light tan. It was much bigger than my house.
"Do you like it?" Brennan asked me. I looked over at him.
"It's pretty," I tell him truthfully.
"If it's too big, I can get a smaller house," Brennan tells me.
"Then we would need to move more stuff. Besides, we're moving to New York before my freshman year of college," I pointed out.
"Okay. As long as it's to your liking."
The movers brought my things into the house. Brennan had them put the boxes upstairs in the hallway.
"Do you want a tour of the house?" Brennan asked me.
"Sure. I'd love a house tour. I want to live in a house and know where everything is," I said. Brennan chuckled at my joke.
