summary: Veronica didn't really fully tell her past to her friends but when an old friend arrives in Riverdale, she'll tell her secrets

***

Veronica Lodge, Riverdale's golden girl. But she wasn't always so golden. Before she moved to the small town of Riverdale, New York was her playground. Skipping school for parties, hustling out money from older men. She was the total bad girl. Now her friends knew she went through a rebellious phase, but it wasn't a phase.

Veronica looked into her vanity mirror, fixing her collar on her dress, clasping her signature line of pearls around her collarbone. She hid her memories of New York in the back of her brain, having her new ones with her new friends in Riverdale fill her head.

She adjusted her skirt while stepping out of the car, smiling at the few girls who were standing outside of the school. Her heels clicked as she took each step towards the student lounge to meet her friends. Her bright smile turned cold when she saw who was next to her friends.

"Ronnie!" Archie smiled standing up to meet his girlfriend who stood by the doorway. "Come meet Y/n."

Veronica was shocked, shocked to see the girl she once did everything did with, here in Riverdale.

"Zorra." The smirk on her face became a bit evil.

"Flaca." Veronica kept her face straight.

"You two know each other?" Betty looked at the two.

"She lived in New York, we went to school together." Veronica answered.

"Oh, don't be modest Zorra." Y/n smiled. "V and I were best friends until she left, isn't that right."

"You took dance classes with Ronnie too." Archie asked Y/n.

"Dance classes." Y/n laughed. "That's what you told them what we did."

"Is there something we're missing?" Betty furrowed her brows.

"I don't think you know our golden girl the way I do." Y/n leaned back into her chair.

"Betty, Archiekins, a word." Veronica looked at her two friends. "Listen to me, Y/n is no good. You remember Nick, she's ten times worse than that. She'll manipulate you to do her dirty work."

"New friend." Cheryl teased when she walked into the student lounge with Toni, Fangs, Kevin, Sweet Pea and Jughead.

"Cereza!" Y/n smiled. "Come, we're just about to talk about some fun memories. Now Zorra, sit."

"Y/n don't." Veronica whispered yelled at her old friend.

"Now, where do we start." Y/n announced to Veronica's friends. "Oh, I know, winter break of freshman year. Nick was hosting a party at the Waldorf. Lights everywhere, people drinking. A few party drugs going around."

"Wait, party drugs?" Archie raised an eyebrow.

"Coke and molly." Y/n answered like it was no big deal. "Anyways, I'm hanging out with Nick in the corner when Zorra walks in with two guys hanging off her arm. She came over to us, asking for a little pick me up."

"Flaca stop!" Veronica scowled.

"No, continue, I'm enjoying this." Cheryl smirked.

"Gladly, so skip a couple months and V brought me to this house party, but she wasn't really in the mood to party. So while I'm high on molly, she takes me up to the master bedroom vanity. She grabs this necklace and puts it on me telling me I look beautiful. And next thing I know we're running out of the house with the necklace still on." By the time Y/n finished everyone was staring at Veronica in disbelief.

"You're lying." Betty accused.

"Now why would I make a story up like that. How about another one, one you can actually believe." Y/n smirked.

Veronica just stared at her friend tears forming in her eyes. She ran from her past hoping it would never find her. She thought after Nick, she wouldn't be bothered again.

"There's this speakseasy in the middle of the East Village. Precious Ronnie got us both fake ID's. Say hello to Elena Hernandez and Vanessa Hendrix. We're having a good time, listening to the singer, having our drinks when two older men want us to come to their private room." Y/n explained. "So we go in of course, and the men are getting a little touchy. So Ronnie slips Molly into their drinks while they aren't looking. Somehow manages to find their credit cards and transfers it to our cards."

"Why are you doing this." Veronica pleaded.

"You tried fouling your little friends, but they should now the person you really are." Y/n answered.

"I think that's enough." Archie commented.

"Oh shut it carrot top." Y/n dismissed him.

"I like her." Sweet Pea looked at Y/n and gave her a wink.

"So a couple weeks go by and I haven't seen Veronica and I find out from Nick, she skipped town when the FBI came. Two wall street men got their money stolen. And apparently Y/n St. Clair confirmed the transfer to a Veronica Lodge." Y/n said.

"You're lying." Betty shook her head, her best friend couldn't have done that.

"I get send to juvie for a year and a half and little Lodge gets off scotch free because of daddy." Y/n explained. "So when I get released she see that my brother is an accident that the Lodge family caused, I just had to come and visit and reminisce on the old days."

"You are such a bitch." Veronica scoffed.

"It takes one to know one." Y/n winked.

"Ronnie is that true?" Archie looked at his girlfriend. She didn't say anything and just looked down at her lap.

"Oh my god." Kevin exclaimed.

"So you came here to ruin my life." Veronica asked.

"No, I came to finish what you started, taking advantage of me when I'm not in the right state of mind and then bailing on me and I take the blame for what you did. The party scene was something I kept away from school, you ruined my life. No ivy league wants to accept the drug addict who was sent to juvie." Y/n sneered.

"So whatever fake bullshit she made up while she was in New York, probably wasn't true. She's a fraud just like daddy." Y/n said. "He was sent to jail for his sins, you should to."

The group sat silence, comprehending everything Y/n said. The northsiders minus Cheryl didn't believe her, they knew Veronica, right? But the southsiders and Cheryl believed every word. She truly wasn't the spoiled little girl this whole time, she had a dark side like everyone else.
