How I Survived

Part 13

15 minutes of walking had finally past.

Letting the door slam behind me with a bang I entered the warehouse which i purchased the day we moved here as a precaution.

I walked to the table for two in the middle of the room and took a seat at one end, Johnathan took the initiative and sat on the side opposite me.

Leonardo, Lucien, Alistair, Astraea and Kaiden (who's Leonardo's right hand man) stood around the table.

"Tell me everything you know"

Everyone else in the room was probably confused as fuck considering that they don't know what's going on, all they know is I asked for the body to be brought here.

He licked his lips and ran his hand through the stubble of his beard for a moment "there's two of them, in charge of everything"

His eyes quickly flickered to Lucien and Leonardo "don't look at them"

"There was four of them all together"

His ringer finger started rhythmically tap against the wooden table "two were guards I think, they didn't talk" he paused "then there were the other two, I think siblings, they had black hair and the girl had hazel eyes and lots of tattoos"

That was the same description that the politician gave me of the people who told him to set me up.

"No names" I raised an eyebrow

"No, they just said to f-follow you and re-eport back to them"

"Really" I gave him an unimpressed look causing him to run a nervous hand through his blonde hair.

"Yeah yeah of course then they would give me my brother"

I clicked my tongue "what do you take me for" I grabbed a dagger from my thigh garter and stabbed it into the hand that was tapping on the table.

"You have five seconds to tell the truth before I sever your whole hand"

Tension in the room rose, I could feel fear come off one specific person watching the scene as everyone else watched in surprise.

"I can't"

His head hanged low as blood seeped through his hand "just give me my brother please, I'm sorry"

"You know the deal, tell the truth and I give you your brother and you better hurry up because your losing my interest very fast and that won't end well for you"

"They wanted me to send a message, but I was too scared to come up to you" he blurted out

"T-the message was 'soon' okay I promise that's everything I know"

"Where were you supposed to meet them"

"The alleyway you stopped me in I swear at 12:00 in the night"

"Okay" I leaned back in my seat and gave Lucien a nod to bring him out.

"Thankyou, I'm so grateful, is he safe, please tell me you didn't hurt him"

I wish I could say I feel bad for tricking him but I don't. I had to do what I have to do to survive, if I didn't I wouldn't have gotten the information.

Lucien went to a door and opened it pulling out a body bag on a long wheely table, rolling it towards the table as Johnathan stood up, disbelief and anger rolling of him in waves

"You lied!" His voice cracked, his reaction doesn't surprise me to be honest, he's probably even going to try and kill me.

"And you shouldn't be surprised, I kept my word after all" I calmly took a step towards him "I told you I would return your brother, I didn't specify whether that was breathing or not" i gestured to the body bag.
