Part 61

I walked through the huge decorated outdoor field of sorts, people staring in shock and judgment at the fact that I was wearing a suit

Grow up it's a piece of clothing that determines nothing about who I am

I made it to the the front and up onto the stage, the room full of Monteverde agents and Monteverde agents only

"Lovely to see you guys again" I commented catching Chris's eye from the middle of the room

"You guys probably already know this but today I become the official leader of the Monteverde's" I dared anyone to speak back

"Your queen" smirking I filled up a glass of whiskey

"To new futures and changes" i literally downed the whole thing in one gulp

Chris walked up as all the agents stood in formation

"Today is the 1st October 2021 and I'm proud to announce Phoenix Hera Salvatore Queen of the Monteverde's" he shouted as fireworks went off, cheering, confetti and shouts.

I was given many things that night, like heirlooms and ownership of all legal and illegal properties, deals etc

And the night was going good until I headed inside the building to piss.

Was that smoke I could smell?

Now you see the bathroom had no windows but it had a carbon monoxide detector so what was going on.

Not wanting to risk anything I grabbed a towel and held it to my nose and mouth as I opened the bathroom door

"Fuck" I shouted, welcomed to the sight of black smoke and fire spreading

My eyes flickered rapidly trying to find an exit as I saw a huge glass window across the room.

But could I make it

The smoke was slowly eating at my lungs as I slipped against the wall and I knew I had to get out before I passed out.

Well that was until I heard someone scream out

"Phoenix!" She approached me her hands grasping my face as though it was her life line

"Mama" I gasped out tears rolling down my eyes.

"Mama" I stuttered out "your-your supposed to be dead"

I had little to no memory of her but I just got this feeling inside that I couldn't describe "I-I can't remember you, I forgot everything, I'm sorry" the flames around us were increasing and coming closer

"You have to get out of here precious" she murmured making me shake my head rapidly

"I'm not leaving you" I could hear someone over the flames shouting my name but I didn't care

"Please don't leave me, I-I need you I need my mum" I tried to grab her but she backed away

"Go do what you were born to do precious, and remember I love you so much" she pushed me towards the open window as flames overtook the place I was just standing at, burning the ground to ashes

Someone grabbed me backwards out the window as I saw her go up in the flames "mama" I shouted thrashing in whoever was holding me's hold

"Stop" I struggled "mama I'm coming please" the person kept trying to shush me and calm me down but I couldn't. The rain hit at my skin like needles as I screamed and cried until the taste of blood was all I knew.

Thoughts accelerated in my mind and I finally made it out of the persons hold running towards the burning building just as it exploded.

My body and heart aches as I lay on the ground, bleeding.
