"You know I'm serious about what's going on between us" Nikolai reassured me as he started french plaiting my hair

"Yeah of course so am I, where's this coming from" I tilted my head backwards so it was easier for him

"Just in case, I actually um I was reading a book this morning and something reminded me of you" he responded a while later tying the end of my plait as he laid his head on my chest listening to my heartbeat most likely

"Go on then" I relaxed against the bed eager to hear him, he got out the book and rested it on my stomach along with his head, his body between my legs

"They will insult you,
hurt you,
defeat you
betray you
injure you
set you aflame
and watch you burn

but they
will not
shall not
cannot
destroy you.

like Rome
were built on ashes

like a Phoenix

rise

I smiled down softly at him as he shut the book "nah I know that only reminded you of me because it has my name in it" I pretended to be heartbroken

"Fuck off you know it's not" he groaned

"Let me tell you one of my favourites" I started

"listen, girl and boy
There is nothing fragile about you.
Inside you rest a host of predators,
waiting to be unleashed at your command.

Like a scorpion,
You must sting when you are endangered
And let your poison paralyse your enemies

Like a lioness
You must hunt those that threaten you,
And raise cubs who are agile hunters like yourself

Like a cobra,
Glide effortlessly passed your hypnotised enemies,
Only sinking your fangs into those who have wronged you

Those who mistreat you
Will tell you you are fragile
They will convince you that you are weak
let them think that you do not know
what you hold inside you
Let them think that your heart
is broken and weak

When they think they have won
And push you for their advantage....

Unleash upon them
The waiting predators that guard you
Destroy them without mercy
With the wilderness inside your heart" I whispered as my hand stroked though his hair

He snorted when I finished "paralyse your enemies I haven't used that technique before"

His hand slowly rubbed circles under the pyjamas as I was wearing "I'll add it to our list don't worry"

I got up to pee as he threw a pillow at my figure walking away groaning about how the bed will be cold

Finishing drying my hands I picked up the pillow he threw at me and started hitting him with it as he grabbed another pillow and thus resulted in a pillow fight

Mind you we're both heavily trained assassins and killers so this wasn't just any pillow fight

"Ahah i won" his pillow was pinned to the wall by my dagger as I danced around

"You fucking wish" he grabbed me by my waist and body slammed me onto the mattress stealing my pillow

"You wouldn't dare" I jokingly hissed at him as he held me down not letting me move
