Nikolai's Pov:

"You have a place in my heart no one else could have, fuck you have my whole heart" I spoke, wondering if today was my last day

I didn't trust anyone to drive Milo to his house where our men were waiting so I did it myself

Except Milo saw us coming

He had the car I'd driven in rigged with objects that release gas

Chloroform gas

I half passed out while driving the car but managed to send a voice note to Phoenix

My mind wasn't in the right space as I couldn't even see properly, the effects of the chloroform kicking in

"I'm going to kill the one person she cares about more then herself and then I can finally have her" the sick bastard spoke from his seat next to me, he took off one of the rings Nyx made me which I love and planted it in the car

I knew all about his plan to fake my death, he dragged me half conscious inside the warehouse as he worked alone to set up the scene knowing everyone would arrive here soon thinking we were in the car

And so I heard it

The worst sound I've ever heard, the one I would never forget and was now infected into my head

Phoenix's sobs

I wished I could run out there and hug her, tell her everything would be okay but I couldn't

Milo was stood at the window with me tied up behind him so he didn't notice me chewing off the tape he put on my mouth

My dazed thought process didn't allow me to attempt to untie myself or anything so I screamed, I shouted Phoenix's name I shouted with all my night hoping they would hear me

Suddenly Milo dropped to the ground, a headshot from down below

Phoenix never misses

Footsteps were heard from down below as I noticed what was in his hand "there's a bomb" I shouted as my Phoenix ran in wildly

Our eyes connected and the world around us disappeared

My hands and feet were untied as I didn't care about anything but her

I had her in my arms, hers around my neck as mine gripped her waist

She was all I fucking needed to survive

"Im in love with you Phoenix Hera Salvatore" i grinned, the effects of the chloroform being overpowered by my newly found adrenaline

"I'm so in love with you and I'll be in love with you until every last star in the galaxy dies darling" my lips met hers as we gripped each other fiercely "I'm in love with you and nothing can ever changed that"

Our hands joined as we sprinted out of the abandoned building, leaving Milos dead body in our wake.

The building being turned to pieces as we walked away, a huge explosion behind us, none of us turning back

I was brought into hugs by Elira and Alfie whilst Phoenix stayed holding my hand, as if if she was to let me go I'd never return

Little did she know I would never leave her

Everyone left the scene as we sat there and watched the building turn to ashes

"Don't ever do something that fucking stupid again" she demanded, and fuck me did she look beautiful doing so

She makes me feel stuff I can barely put into words

"I had to" i cupped her face "we don't who could have been betraying us and working for Milo this was the only shot we had at killing him"

"And if you died then what. How could you just think about getting rid of Milo and not about your own life" tears glistened at her own eyes making my throat sting and burn at the sight of her being upset by me

"Because I would die for you idiota and now you know it" I kissed each of her fingers and her palms and we watched the world around us burn to nothing

"Well next time we do it together shithead"
