*knock knock*
"Tadaima~"
"Oh! Okaerinasai nii-chan!" A little girl greeted her older brother with a delightful and endearing smile on her face, never seeming to have faltered a single bit.
She jumped down onto the ground from atop one of the chairs she was standing on, trying to reach some parts of the wall that she can't reach, however, needed some cleaning.
"Konnichiwa Chīsame no yatsu!" Her brother greeted happily, gently patting the little one's head before putting down the things he had brought home to his little sister.
"Sugoi...Nani o mochikaerimashita ka, nii-chan?" The little girl questioned with nothing but curiosity beaming in her beady little eyes as she dove and dug through the hundreds of things that were brought home by her brother.
"Ah...Some Kyandi ya o yatsu, for our whole family..." Her brother said, voice filled with nothing but pure intentions as he got some konpeito from inside the bag and gave it to his little sister.
"Dozo..." Her brother said, handing her the konpeito that he got from the bag before she laughed and snatched them from his hand, chuckling while doing so as her eyes shined even brighter than before.
"Wah~! Arigato guzaimasu nii-chan!" She thanked him twice before going on to shove the candy down her mouth, chewing on it as she savored the sweet flavor of the candy before swallowing it, taking another and placing it in her mouth as she rolled it around her mouth with her tongue.
"Oishī?"
"HAI NII-CHAN~~" She said, almost immediately after her brother questioned, making the older ***** chuckle, standing up as he took off his geta and placed it to the side of the minka.
"Ah! *****, okaerinasai..." Her mother greeted him with the same smile plastered on her face, seeming to be cooking dinner s it was already late at night.
"Ohayo okāsan! You're starting to cook dinner now? Without otōsan?" The older brother questioned, slightly curious though some part of him thought, that otōsan simply had decided to work overnight as a farmer, seeing as their family wasn't the most richest out there.
More so, they lived on a mountain, dangerously close to a cliff side.
They even built their own minka themselves, but thanks to their otōsan being the "builder/carpenter of the village" he made sure that the minka was safe for them to live in.
"I didn't want you guys starving now do I?" She questioned, smiling sadly as she continued to cook.
"Besides I, as well, have been worried for him since the past hour" The mother of the family added at the end of her sentence, her smile slowly faltering as her movement started to slow down to a stop.
"hm? Chichi wa mada ie ni imasen ka?" The youngest of the family poked her head from the door frame, connecting the kitchen to the main living room, immediately hearing about their father not being home yet.
Her mother immediately put on the same smile she had on her face and untied the apron she wore, folding it and placing it on the tea table, before kneeling down in front of the youngest, patting her hair, to which the young girl leaned into the warmth of her mother's touch.
She smiled sadly, before placing her hand on her daughter's cheek, rubbing her cheeks with her thumb before kissing her forehead, leaving a lingering feeling of warmth that made the young girl yawn and suddenly feel sleepy.
"Kare wa atode kitaku shimasu..." Her mother said, carrying the child in her arms before humming a simple lullaby that brought her children to sleep all the time.
After a while, she carefully placed the young one in a futon, coating her with a thick and warm blanket before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, kissing her forehead once more.
"Oyasumi...[Y/N]..."
"Oyasumi...-"

"It's been a while [Y/N]. I wonder where you are these days..."
