Chapter 33

Age: [17 Years Old] [Y/N] [L/N] POV

I ran through the forest and jumped through large branches.

Whether they were close or not, I couldn't tell but I still kept running, in fear that if I even took a second of a break, they'd catch up to me.

I kept running in my kitsune form, Akarui now sitting soundly on my back as he was a bit tired from flying.

But the rain that I could sense was coming was not gonna give Akarui a nice sleep.

I began to run faster in search for another shelter to hide under, but the rain moved faster than I expected.

Moments later, it began to pour heavily down onto the ground and harshly on my skin as I whimpered slightly at the sharp impact.

However, as I was the least bit distracted, I slipped in the wet mud and rolled down the slop, ultimately waking Akarui up as he reacted fast enough to leave my back and jump onto one of the branches.

However, I was not able to find my balance and continued rolling down the hill as I ended up hitting a tree.

I howled in pain as I felt it break one of my ribs from the impact.

I slowly began to relax my muscles, and ultimately turned back into human form.

My [H/C] colored hair stuck to my face as it is filled with grime, mud, tears and sweat as I curled up even more.

I sobbed as I tightened myself into a tight circle, covering my face with my hands as I pushed myself up, forcing myself to at least go onto my hands and knees.

As I did so, I laid still for a moment before I grabbed the mud in between my fingers and shouted into nothing but the empty woods.

"DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT!!" I shouted, again and again as I tightened my grip onto the mud below me, digging my forehead into the wet dirt as I screamed again.

Sobbing as I felt my chest tighten even more than it had before.

I grabbed at it, trying to calm it down and relax it, but nothing seemed to work.

It only ended up twisting even more, as if something is pulling at it, cutting it, stabbing it.

It hurt...

"GAH! DAMN IT, YOU..." I grabbed my hair tightly, pulling it as I bit my lip, though in the end, I felt my throat vibrate and ache as I let out another scream.

Tears continuously flowing down my cheeks as I looked up to the dark raining sky and clouds, feeling the rain drops drop onto my already dirty skin.

"Damn you..." I said, voice hoarse as I looked down onto the ground and slumped, sobbing and sniffling as my tears blended in with the rain that slowly fell onto the ground.

[THIRD PERSON] POV

"Where are they?" A male muttered to himself, as he hid himself under a dirty brown old hood.

He stood in the middle of absolute no where as he tapped his foot against the dirt ground beneath him.

He sighed in frustration as he began to walk up to some random stranger and tapped them on the shoulder.

"Ma'am, could you please tell me where I am?" He asked in a gentle voice as the young female only nodded, a bit flustered by the man's appearance as she spoke.

"Why of course! This is [V/N]!" She said in an ecstatic tone as the male only smiled and thanked the women in question.

"Found it. Now all I need to do is search for the trail her aura left behind"
