I woke up refreshed, still high on Zeus's lyrics

I woke up refreshed, still high on Zeus's lyrics. Every single word flowed through my vein like a drug, it was euphoric and spellbinding. I didn't want it to fade but I knew nothing last forever, even drugs fade.

His concert was magical and breathtaking. He pumped the crowd up while he bonded with his band. He would sing next to his drummer and would flirt with his backup singers. His eyes were lit with fire and lightning, he was Zeus, god of thunder and that's what he delivered. But one thing I did notice was an emptiness in his eyes; that only I could see or maybe because I knew his weaknesses just like he did with me. He loved singing but he wasn't happy or maybe I was just being an emotional wreck.

I haven't watched any of his concerts because I wanted to forget the pain I remembered when we still had a powerful bond. I would just collect his albums and anything that had his face plastered on it. I kept all his memorabilia in a safe box because I still had a love for him but now it's different we are mature and older. I can handle it, right?

I went into my closet and rummaged through my clothes, it's funny how I have everything now but back in high school I wore the same three tore up jeans and hoodie. My T-shirts consisted of X-men or it was usual plain. I glanced down at the corner of the closet and saw a box labeled "New Clothes, Zeus's Gift".

I picked up the box and brought it out. I placed it on my bed and grazed my finger on top of the dusty box. The black marker writing was faded and the box had some dented edges but it held memories. It was the first time Zeus gifted me some new jeans. We were at the mall in Banana Republic, he was shopping for outfits and I was there just to keep him company.

*SENIOR YEAR*

Zeus wanted to shop for new outfits so I tagged along to keep him company. His relationship with Madeleine was growing and he felt the need to impress her with new clothes. I wouldn't have cared. He looked handsome in a simple T-shirt, black tight jeans, and his leather jacket.

"How does this look?" He came out of the dresser in some dark blue pants and a nude polo, he looked like a preppy guy in college. I wrinkled my nose and shook my head. "Yeah thought so," he went back in and changed. I sat outside while I held some jeans he didn't like but I admired them, the crisp clean material, you know, the "not worn" feel. It's been a while since I had a pair of "new" jeans. My clothes usually were from the thrift shop. I didn't mind, it kept me warm and comfortable but it would be nice to have a nice pair like these.

Zeus came out with another outfit, he had black fitted jeans and a red polo. Damn, he looked hot, pair it with his leather jacket and he is gold. "Ok, your eyes told me everything. I'm getting this outfit," he winked at me and went back inside. It didn't take long for his arms to be filled with different outfits.

We walked out of the fitting room while I held the jeans in my hands. I admired all the fancy clothes and ran my fingers through some nice polo shirts that caught my eyes. This wasn't my world. I felt out of place. I was a second-hand type of person. "You like those shirts," I snapped out of my thoughts and pivoted myself towards him. "Yeah, they are nice. I would never be able to afford them," I glanced at the price of $69.99. My eyes widen. I definitely didn't belong here.
