*TRIGGER MOMENTS OF DRUG ADDICTION*
When I heard his name my heart stopped. Zeus was in the audience, my first love and I lost him for being so needy. I was so immature and selfish that I only thought of myself. I didn't care who I hurt but all I did was hurt myself.
I put on a fake barbie doll smile and walked out. My eyes moving all over the audience and that's when I saw him. He was sitting in the front row, handsome as hell in his black suit. His blue steel eyes glowing and his hair perfectly combed back.
Was that Beau sitting next to him? I haven't seen him since high school. How did they meet again? I know I hurt Beau the most in high school and I paid the price for my sins.
The spotlight was in my face and suddenly I froze. My forced smile disappeared and my thoughts went blank. My words were stuck in my throat as my hands began to tremble. I gripped the microphone and that's when I felt my eyes water. What was happening to me? I've always been in the spotlight and now I'm frozen like a statue.
My eyes went to Zeus again as I saw him lean and whisper into Beau's ears. Beau nodded and Zeus got up. I saw him coming towards the stage and my heart thundered in my chest. He walked up the stairs and waved at the audience. He got closer as my lips trembled. "Zeus," my words choked.
He got closer and grabbed the microphone from my hand. He smirked at me and faced the audience. "Good evening everyone, I'm Zeus Storm," everyone clapped and cheered at his presence. I just studied him. His perfect jawline, his steel-blue eyes, the way his voice radiates towards the audience, and just his presence calmed me.
"Madeleine and I dated a couple of years ago. She's a wonderful person and I know she is here for a reason. We all aren't perfect so please give her a minute to catch her breath," I swallowed the knot in my throat. He gave me the microphone and winked. "Madeleine just breath and we'll talk after," he pulled me into a hug and kissed my cheek. His minty scent lingered as he walked off the stage.
A tear came down my cheek but his words enveloped me with calmness. He didn't have to do what he did. He was an angel. I thought he would still be upset about how we left off. I know I was needy and didn't care for his feelings. I just wanted to be famous but it cost me my life and family. I lost my modeling contracts and my family. I have no one in my life.
I cleared my throat and put on the best smile I could give. "I'm sorry about that, it's been a while since I've been out in public, especially doing a speech," my heart was still beating fast but I was relaxed. My eyes glanced and Zeus who gave me his charming smile.
"My name is Madeleine Bardot and I'm a drug addict," my eyes filled with water. It was hard at first to admit I had a problem because fame consumed me and peer pressure got the best of me. Being a model had its perks but also it had a hidden world no ones talks about. My break up with Zeus was also my downfall.
